Nick Tegrataker, 25 May 2022Uhh.. external microphone?Genius most cameras are big enough so you needs both hands to use t properly.

Tons of cameras records audio and dont have headphone jack.
For most cameras especially mirrorless and big ones you needs both hands.
How you plan to use third hand you dont have to hold extra microphone???
Any camera even the lowest of the low and the msot expensive records audio and video and have no space for 3,5 mm jack.
    Stp trying to be funny.
    Because you clearly dont.

SigmaR, 25 May 2022At those prices, they can both go to suck an egg. Fuji XT4 ... moreExcept the autofocusing capabilities of those cameras are not as good as the Canon's, which is pretty much already evenly-matched to Sony.

At those prices, they can both go to suck an egg. Fuji XT4 and XS10 are a smarter choice

Let's say you're taking a picture in low light and Magic 4 Ultimate happens to set the ISO to 1000 with a shutter speed of 1/15s. Using the same shutter speed, R7 will have to raise the ISO to 3500 to achieve the same level of exposure. The amount of photons the lens can take in are roughly the same on each, therefore the end results will be also largely comparable.

As for the telephoto lens - I feel like 24MP (not Quad Bayer) is a good middle ground for a 4x telephoto lens. Sure, the low light performance would suffer a bit, but in return you would have a significance increase in resolution as long as the light is abundant.

And then comes the Samsung and Xiaomi fanatics saying "why no 8K video recording? My $1500 smartphone can do that!" 🧠

Crazy how you were praising Canon for having good cameras a few months ago, but now question why they have a headphone jack (even though it's obvious).

The pixel 6 pro's 48mp telephone periscope sensor has 0.8 µm. It's only usable because of the non-bayer demosaicing. The Canon R7 has 3.19µm. Even the Magic4 ultimates main sensor has tiny 1.4µm pixel pitch.

None Bayer sensors are used to try and make up for the pixel inefficiency issues.

The R7 uses a 32 megapixel Bayer Dual Pixel sensor. It's about time that smartphones use Bayer sensors with a higher resolution than 12 megapixels. For example, regarding the total amount of light per exposure time, the Honor Magic 4 Ultimate main camera is approximately equivalent to a Canon R7 with an f/3.0 wide angle lens, the Pixel 6 Pro main camera is approximately equivalent to a Canon R7 with a 15mm f/4.0 lens, similar to a wide angle kit lens. But smartphones combine multiple images, so in average light conditions they can capture even more light (longer exposure) without causing blurry images. There are nearly no smartphones that offer Bayer raw files with a higher resolution than 12 or 16 megapixels. I think that the periscope camera of the Pixel 6 Pro would really benefit from a 30 megapixel sensor (instead of 12) in good light conditions because the daylight performance of tele cameras is more important than the low light performance of tele cameras.

I miss my old DSLR days....although my last few Canons , 1Dmk2n and 40D and Nikon D200 are totally thrashed by these new machines....I would still love to get back to the old days of having a camera and not just a phone with a camera....even if it was just going back to an older model dslr.
