There are several differences on an Asus Zenbook 14 according to the processor being used. For example with an AMD the USB C ports are not thunderbolt, the disk is in a PCI 3.0 version and not 4.0 (half of the write and reading speeds only) and the ram is LPDDR4X and not LPDDR5.

Ak, 14 Aug 2022Great review. I bought the core-i7 model for $1308 in India... moreExactly, I had the same issue and it was never resolved in any update. It is just utter dissatisfaction with the laptop that costs so much. Could have gone for a macbook air m1 for the same cost. Regardless, were you able to fund any work around ?

Recommended, i bought the i5 version.. super light, super thin, super fast, super smooth. I had been surveying almost 1 month for my new laptop. Finally made my choice and very satisfied with the purchase

Great review. I bought the core-i7 model for $1308 in India. Looks great and is generally competent but becomes gets pretty warm easily. Also, feels a little slow for system having i7, 12th gen and 16gb ddr5.
Stanegly, its thunderbolt port refuses to display to usb c monitor - Lenovo T-24h-20 through a usb c cable supplied with the monitor. I am able to display with three other usb c laptops - all non thunderbolt, with this cable. Only charging gets started with Asus. I have even tried a very expensive thunderbolt certified cable. Same result. However, if I use a C to HDMI adapter on this port, the display works, but this defeats the very purpose of C port.
Asus India, incompetently, is unable to figure out the issue and has already replaced one notebook. Now Asus technical support are saying that their thunderbolt port is not compatible with non thunderbolt monitors but are not willing to send an email to same effect. I believe that that Asus cannot make such a blunder at hardware level - this should require a better driver only.
Hope you can shed some light on the issue.

hamed, 28 May 2022max 16 gb ram is not acceptable by 2022. my 2016 has 16 gb ... moreso upgraded cpu/gpu, efficiency, display, portability, etc arent enuf reasons alone, u need more RAM!🤦🏻♂️
16GB is enough for vast majority of users especially since this laptop doesn't even have a dGPU, why would u need >16GB!?

Honestly, this screams "cheap" laptop and not in a good way. Even the internals look pretty cheaply put together.
And please, don't treat OLED as "premium", when everyone and their grandma puts OLED on smartphones nowadays. Plus, it uses more energy and has nasty PWM.

Now I'm wondering what's that Olympus OMS guy (https://www.gsmarena.com/user.php3?idUser=1033494) has to say who was lamenting for Intel's stability against AMD processor in comments section of that recent AMD 5.5GHz article by gsmArena.

Looks nice, but visually looks way more like a vivobook than a Zenbook (and the build quality sounds like it's more vivobook level)
