SpiritWolf, 29 May 2022Still using my Nokia 808 running Symbian Belle. Best phone ever.Agreed. Symbian in my opinion was REAL mobile OS
The power of changing voice in-call and adding background sounds, music etc.. and little to impossible for people to hack your phone remotely.. that shows how powerful it was.
Hopefully Huawei succeed with their HarmonyOS AND can provide Symbian features, especially when it comes to lightness, power features and security.

BMHater12, 29 May 2022What mobile OS are you going to run anyway?Right now I have Symbian (my favourite), Windows Phone (better than Spydroid) and Spydroid phones. Migrating as soon as it comes out from China to Harmony OS. And there is always Sailfish, successor to MeeGo. But thanks Spygle, I had enough. Never liked it, from the start.

I know it was bugged as hell, but hey... At least it can do 1 thing that android and IOS of todays can't, which is voice changing in-line on the fly! And adding background sounds in-line on the fly too!! It was really fun pranking friends at that time.
How I liked that feature , don't let my tear drop please!

Here's a use case, I separate voice and data lines in 2 SIMs
Phone line from operator 1
Data (internet) from operator 2
Simply because in my country operator 1 provides better services in calling, while operator 2 has better internet plans and overall performance.
Another use case for me, when I travel to other countries I simply put that country's SIM card (which has data+voice) in the second slot and leave my home line in the first so I can receive calls from both lines.
So dual-SIM is A MUST for many people including myself. As for eSIM it's not an option because operator doesn't provide it for phones other than either iphone or galaxy (some operators even make it exclusive for iphones).
I wish there's a hack or something to copy all SIM cards info to the eSIM (which supports up to 10 lines as I understand it) that would be really fantastic.

Well.. i had dualsim for at least 10+ years. And since 1.5 years i have a workphone and my own phone. I asked for just a simcard (since my current Sony also has dual sim) but they insisted on the use of an iPhone.

SpiritWolf, 29 May 2022World would be a lot better place if Google never existed. ... more1. I really don't get your obscure hatred against certain companies. It's so ridiculously foolish that it makes me think that you're just doing it to look cool because you're being anti-norms. I'm also a critique of every brand or company in the things that they're doing, including Google, but not once did I felt the need to wish for them to have never come into existence, unless of course they did something criminally wrong in the past and did not own up to their responsibilities and the consequences (of which, I don't see that many of them anyway).
2. Your use case in a mobile phone did not require having multiple SIM card slots, as you didn't have any reason to own more than one. Understood. But that's on your case, how about the others who are working in a job that requires having multiple SIM cards? They also needed the option for their job's nature, hence such phones were created specifically for them. It's always nice to have many more options, and it's not like having multiple SIM card slots on your phone would negatively affect the usability of it, right? Similar to having a headphone jack while also embracing advancements in wireless audio technology at the same time like what Sony is doing with their Xperia phones. Your opinion is way too focused on you that it makes me sad about how egocentric your personality appears to me based on these rubbish comments of yours.

[deleted post]In the context of early 2000s, when emails were not yet the mainstream business/work-related media of communication, people had to use their mobile phones, each of which needed more than one, heck even 3 different SIM cards with different numbers for various purposes. I remember my auntie owning more than two basic phones, each with two SIM cards installed inside, and she used them to communicate with her clients in the bank that she's working in.
So yes, multiple SIMs were really required for work back in the early days of cellular mobile phones. You might as well do some research or proper investigation first on this matter before leaving rubbish comments that showcases your lack of diligence.

Dual-SIM phones should still exist as it's still useful, but triple- or quad-SIM phones should be kinda cool things belonging to the history
