I neither use Google duo nor meet - i use whatsapp , and very occasionally Zoom for video conferences.

Even worse things to point out are Apps called "Chat" & "Hangouts" exist for some reason to this very day. Why not combine all 4 into one and based on subscription, make an informed decision whether the user is an individual or a business user. Why make it so hard for laymen to figure out, which one is which. I guess even for Google, that is a better proposition, fewer apps, fewer resources, and less maintenance. Why do they always complicate stuff?

Imagine any app developer would do such a mess. Users would be upset and the apps kicked out of the store by Google. But since it's Google itself doing this, they can get away with it. It's also Google that never updates its changelogs when their apps are updated...

Maybe they can have that feature, after opening the app, it asks "Do you want to meet or duet?" And the user selects the option based on single person or group meeting.

Spend millions on advertising Duo worldwide and then rename the app. Typical Google, I wonder who takes such amazing decisions. Amazing work!

Not sure if im glad about this...because duo is literally the best videocalling app..second to discord ofc...but duo is the cleaness
..Meet on the otherhand...not the same
