It is 2 quad core processor.. 1 is a 1.8ghz A15 processor for heavy apps... The other is a 1.2ghz a7 processor for light apps.
Most the time it will be running the small processor but still has the powerful processor on tap.... Power savings are meant to be around 70%
Personally it is a superb idea... I think you are an apple or Nokia fan and don't like advances by the competition?

AMOLED is in fact neither worse nor better than IPS-LCD. The technology itself is ofc better in AMOLEDs, that means that it is potentially possible to get lower power consumption with the same brightness, BUT at this point it is not the case. LCDs on the other hand is an maxed out technology, there is not much more you can achieve with it.
At this point I would rather buy IPS-LCD just due to the brightness and the big advantage in normal lighting conditions, but that might change. IMO for smartphones there is not much to hope for than this (brightness, accurate color reproduction, ok black level). AMOLED will be THE technology when it comes to TVs tho and also for all kinds of displays indoors and potentially also outdoors, but IPS-LCD is just ok for smartphones.
Btw Bravia Engine is just a pseudo-color-black-level-enhancement. It is just the same as the settings in the TV and it is actually not rly wanted for correct color and gamma reproduction, but some ppl like to buy things cause of pseudo-features, always worked this way.
Next thing to come 1080p in a 4.7" Display, yeah 470ppi I can see it with my microscope it is rly way better ... c'mon, it's bollocks 720p would be enough, the battery life would be way better (from CPU/GPU side and also the display consumption itself).

I don't think that the S3 cannot run anything you throw at it, not now and not in a couple of years; so forget about benchmarks it means nothing; let talk about upgrades. the galaxy S2(2 years old) is now getting the 4.1.2 upgrade while the xperia S (1 year old) is still strugelling with the 4.0.4

CPU means nothing, look at the Dualcore from Qualcom against the Quadcore from Samsung, the Dualscore beats the hell out of the Quadcore.
Xperia T is at all fronts beter than SGS 3, why?
Screen/CPU/GPU/Design/Camara and software.

The only thing what Sammsy can do beat the Sony Xperia Z is the processor part, nothing else. And that have to prove first that the overhype Octa core will help.
Look at the Xperia T, it is faster than a quadcore CPU from SGS3 against the dualcore.
The Samsung fanboys are so annoying.

again the result of advertisement. when they say octa cores it doesn't mean that all 8 cores function simultaneously. it is consisted of two quad cores. one for light and the other for fast processing. another thing to mention. the screen would not be bendable as it was rumored.

SIV will be the best phone ever launched because it will have EXYNOSE 5 OCTA-CORE processor having 8 cores and it will have eye tracking technology which means if you get interrupted when you are watching a movie so it will pause automatically. Beat that...

I doubt Xepria Z will be better than the SIV...S IV will probably have the new Octa-Core processor and the 1080p display will be of the Super AMOLED type which is far more superior than the LCD on Xperia

Sorry to break it to those Sony fans below, but the Xperia Z is already pretty much outdated for example by its processor and ui. Note 2 can whoop its behind by just features alone. With dust and water *resistance* gimmicks aside what will not crush the Z this year? Sony know this and are now focusing on pushing their baby out before its too late.

I dont understand a thing about Xperia Z. its the same phone as Optimus G which LG had 5 months earlier(Except for 5" Screen and 441ppi). Apart from that there is nothing new in Z(IMHO i don't think waterproof and dust proof are the things to beat). And please stop comparing it to S4 which is not yet announced.
