Nothing worth waiting for. It's outdated when it's finally out. Just like the rest of the "unique" phones.

Akinaro, 08 Jun 2022You realize that OnePlus was just side company of BBK that ... more‘ you just dont want chinese brand on it, you want new fancy name.’

Well look, personally I’m quite happy with my iPhone, so chances are I’m not going to be interested in what ever they announce, beyond observational curiosity born out of a fondness for what OnePlus used to be. But you carry on making incorrect assumptions by all means.

And yes I know they were always under the BBK Umbrella, but at least back in the early day they were trying and had leeway to be their own thing. Times have changed though, and OnePlus got more and more pointless the closer BBK brought it to Oppo

Suprise surprise but there is actually a market where people prioritize the overall cost of the phone... If it's in their budget over spec sheets

We have the iPhone se as an example and unlike your comment we have hard verified evidence we have the numbers to back it through sales

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2022Alternative to flagships are called midrange. Pointless t... moreI'm sorry but I cant see ur logic there!
Do u mean to say that flagship SoCs (including sub/old-flagships) should only be restricted to top-dollar phones? Well not everyone wants a complete all-rounder which scores 9 or 10 in every category. What's the point of the Pixel 'a' series then, or so called (I hate the term) "flagship killers" or almost flagship??
You do realise that putting a more powerful chip in a non-flagship phone also improves the xp (cameras, performance, smoothness, etc) and longevity compared to a mid-range chip??

--Coming from a user of Z2 Plus (SD820) & now X7 Max (D1200), both of which put an almost flagship chip into a very competitively priced package ($200 & $375 respectively)!!

Well we're looking forward to the announcement, and can't wait to see what Carl Pei comes out with this time....!

Pointless to have flagship SoC if the rest of the phone is midrange.

Giving 8G1 to A73 would not make it on pair with S series.
Giving 8g1 to 10iv does not make it on pair with 1iv .
Giving 8g1 to Nord 2 CE does not make it on pair with 10 Pro.

Pointless to any phone to have 8g1/8+1 if other stuff (screen , cameras, audio quality, build etc) suffer sacrifices.
Useless to have best SoC if rest of the phone is inferior to what a 2020 real flagship has.

DaFink, 08 Jun 2022alot of people are waiting to see if this company will do w... moreYou realize that OnePlus was just side company of BBK that own Oppo/Realme/Vivo... they literally used Oppo devices and hardware/facilities.

Fans and Pet Lau can deny that they are not Oppo(back then, as now Oppo literally is only shareholder), but everything from fabrication, design and hardware from the first device to the latest one is and was made by oppo.

Only difference was that OnePlus pushed for better marketing, as back then vivo and Oppo had good devices that could compete with major players but no one bother to check them as they where really no-name brands from china.

Here we have the same thing but just made really badly with cringe cheap marketing, they literally do the same thing again: trying to sell existing devices and hardware under new brand.

It was never about ""release a genuine alternative the mainstream flagships at a great price"" as you have them, you just dont want chinese brand on it, you want new fancy name.

The macro - It just means that they are focusing on the DETAILS that matter

This won't sell that well, it will have a mid range specs, with 7 gen 1 processor and underwhelming camera. It ain't 2013, when smartphones were new and OnePlus were able to make a mark.

This launch reminds me of the oneplus ones that were always made in london, why not change the excebarium and do it from the United States, China, Korea or something like that that doesn't leave you with that old air that smells like BBK behind all this
