AMD unveils Zen 4 for laptops, timeline for Zen 5, RNDA 3 and 4 launches

Zen 4 for laptops will be fabbed on a 4nm node and it will be paired with RDNA 3, which promises at least 50% higher performance per Watt.

Process node plays a role in overall efficiency, but it's NEVER a defining factor. AMD Bulldozer chips were not bad because GlobalFoundries made them. They were bad because they were designed in such way. Even if someone somehow quickly transplanted AMD Bulldozer architecture into most efficient process, it would still be very bad CPU. It's same with Exynos chipsets. It's not bad because it's made using Samsung's node, it's bad because it's just designed this way. Same for SD 888 and SD 8 Gen 1 which everyone is screeching about how it's bad because of Samsung. It's not. They are just designed this way. TSMC making them, would maybe make them mildly better, but wouldn't change characteristics all that much.
