Watch Series 3 from Huawei is a big overpriced fail in my opinion. Harmony OS is a step up but still very limited outside China. So why pay more than 150 EURO for a glorified fitness band (PRO versions prices are just plain stupid)?
You're better of with old GT2 variants for far less money. And for a true smart feature set even Samsung Watch4 series is far cheaper. If only it had 3-5 day battery life it would have been best Android smartwatch...
The designs and materials are a personal taste/choice, but paying 200-300 EURO extra for premium materials is idiotic. If you want something stylish and timeless just buy a classic watch...

What would be the cheaper but still reliable bracelet compared to this one?

Do they also suffer of "overruling" of all Bluetooth priorities when more devices are connected to the android phone? Like when they are connected in same time as BT headphones, or carkit and they force phone to make a call via HUA Watch - but then they return response back to the phone and if you want to use any other device, you have to choose it manually, once the call begins, therefore you will loose first seconds of any call? Got the experience from GT3 and then I found many discussions, where users are experiencing this behaviour, with no solution from HUA. It was possible to solve it by downgrading the version of app, but that's out of discussion for new models. It is a pity as its making pretty good device unusable in many practical situations.

Tomy159, 13 Jun 2022Ok I will. Little correct you,
Cellular - watch 3 /pro. Th... moreYou didnt correct me, you actually agreed with me.
This is an expensive smartwatch. So at this price point in 2022, it should be mandatory to be cellular. I mean the 43mm starts from 500euros.
Also you cant normally reply(type etc)like mentioned in the review.
The 43mm has around 290mah battery compared to 530mah on the 46mm. Thats a huge difference between these models.
You are really getting punished for choosing the smaller model.
And as for your last point, this is how things are. If someone wants a true smartphone in terms of capabilities, including downloading apps, google assistant, cellular connectivity etc, yes all the options dont have great battery, thats the downside in that.
I am not saying that Samsung Watch 4 is the best and for everyone.
All i am saying is that its horrible that companies charge so much money for smartwatch with smartband capabilities.
The previous GT 2 pro was way cheaper than these.

But the point of such materials is just the feel. Stainless steel has some serious heft to it and it feels much colder to the touch than aluminium and I generally like that a lot. Some just prefer that, even if the product won't ever live for 20 years...

at first glance, premium housing looks attractive. however, such materials last about 20-30 years. a smartwatch usage life is 2-5 years. so,it is an overkilll for a device to be replaced in a few years. not to mention, internals are not premium due to market restrictions either.

As an owner of the gt 2 pro i love this thing so nice to see the new one mine lasts 2 weeks on a battery charge and i take it in my hot tub with all the chemicals and had zero issues there i think smartwatches are going a bit over the top these days it does my calls tracks my heartbeat and sleep and gives me notification and media control nothing more than that is not necessary so the battery life becomes a big player for me.

Aan2007, 13 Jun 2022TLDR so huge brick on your wrist will give you 4-5 days of ... moreWhy is AoD a necessity? You typically move your wrist to see the time anyway, so the standard raise/turn to wake is fine, and does easily hit the 10-14 day range. And even if you do use AoD, it's far better than competing watches.

Reply to messages is not right you can reply to all messages include whattsapp, telegram, sms.etc (right now only email can't reply but you can read part or email)
Then yes 43mm could have better battery but I seen you even didn't try Samsung watch 4. Believe me if and really if you lucky that you will have 1.5 day on battery. And watch 4 you should compare to huawei watch 3/3pro they are in same group not GT lines.
Rest is just everyone sugestion. Material is one of best and thst of course cost more.

Another disappointing smartwatch from Huawei.
+It is very beautiful
+great build quality
And the positives stop there.
-No cellular connectivity
-You cant reply to messages or download apps from what looks like
-Very small battery for the 43mm
-quite heavy, which is not good for activities
-very expensive
So in general its a very expensive-smartwatch looking-smartband with top notch build quality and with harmonyOS(only a fiew have outside of Asia nowadays).
Those who are looking for a true smartwatch will probably look for a Samsung Watch 4 or Apple Watch(android and Ios options).
Those who are looking for great build quality, good battery and smartwatch looking smartband capabilities, they will probably look for a GT2/pro or Xiaomi S1.

Just me, 13 Jun 2022I have Huawei Watch 3 and whe situations with AOD here is a... moreYeah, this kind of insight you just provided would be great in reviews. So it depends on watch face to provide AOD version and if there isn't any, it'll use a predefined one. Ok.
Apple watch doesn't really have an option to download entirely different ones, but you can create your own by adjusting almost everything and that then also translates directly into identical but darker AOD mode. It's really odd how everyone puts nearly zero time into AOD "review". Everyone just says "it has one and it affects battery a lot". Yeah, that's not really helpful. I already know it affects it a lot, but you didn't tell me anything about it. Hell, for most watches they don't even mention it, just go on about wrist twisting feature that activates it which I think is just stupid and ugly having blank watch on the wrist...

SShock, 13 Jun 2022I would appreciate if reviewers would mention if AOD has fi... moreI have Huawei Watch 3 and whe situations with AOD here is as follows:
Most of the pre-installed watch faces (and many of the downloadable ones) have light version for the AOD, cleaning the interface and replacing white parts with dark and dimming it a bit.
If some of the faces don't have their AOD version, then you have the choice between handful pre-loaded AOE faces (sadly no way to download more of these).
I think this would be the situation with Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro as well, but I agree with you that should be part of the review, since the look is important for most people looking for smartwatch and the watchfaces (and their AOD counterparts) are a significant part of that.

TLDR so huge brick on your wrist will give you 4-5 days of proper use with AOD (probably unreadable uncustomizable dim), in the smaller version even less, maybe 2-3 days, what an amazing battery life charging watch minimum twice a week to use them as watch
