We are also looking at a 6P lens with a larger aperture.

SShock, 15 Jun 2022I mean, I used Android phones exclusively for around a deca... moreIt's true that Samsung has gotten much better with updates but so have others and saying that there is no hope for things to change is exaggerating. I am bored with Android also, I have been using it since Android 1.6 and I wanted to try iPhone but I can never spend so much on a device that simply limits basic 2010 functions just because they want it to be this way. I have to thank a friend for borrowing me his iPhone, otherwise I wouldn't have had the chance to experience it. The thing that nobody seems to understand or they just don't want to understand is that iOS runs only on iPhones and iPads compared to Android that runs on endless different configurations and suffers endless skins and UI changes. If that would have been the case with iOS I highly doubt that it would be like you said. At the beginning I was super excited with the iPhone also until the honey moon phase runs out. Once that ended, I saw how things truly are and went back to Android. But it is true, Android still needs many changes especially in the battery optimizations. This is the main reason why I wanted to ditch Android.

DaFink, 14 Jun 2022With you on this dude, and I think it comes down to having ... moreI mean, I used Android phones exclusively for around a decade too. I never really liked the whole Apple shtick back then and I avoided it actively. But then I got really fed up with all the Androids nonsense, particularly lack of actual software support of any kind and also Google's obsessive data hoarding. So I decided, why not try iPhone. And boy I didn't expect to like it this much. Sure, it has its own idiocies like Safari browser engine restriction and for a long time inability to set default apps or limited NFC and BT support, but all that turned out to be just mild annoyances that can change and have changed over time. Android phones updating is pretty much just as sad as it was 10 years ago and there is literally no hope it'll get much better. Samsung improved, but they always offered the most updates of all. Most others were just "me too", but they apply it so arbitrarily and based on how much you paid for the device I can hardly call it an improvement. And the funniest thing is, people think I'm sh**ting on Android as OS. No, Android as OS is actually really good. The issue is how all phone companies use and maintain it and how badly a lot of apps depend on the fact that bootloader is locked and that they strictly require Gapps or they just fail entirely. And that's so bad I don't want to use it anymore because of it.

SShock, 13 Jun 2022No, they create things that matter. Android phone makers ju... moreWith you on this dude, and I think it comes down to having something ‘done right, not first’. After all, rarely if ever is the first example of a technology or technological feature the best.

Look at the Android world, first fingerprint scanner, only it didn’t quite scan fingerprints, first ultra high resolution displays that lacked contrast and brightness, first HRR displays that came with a hit to battery life. First folding displays with a crease that could be damaged by one’s own finger nail! First under display selfie cameras that suck in terms of photo quality. These are just few examples, most based around screen technology sure, but I think the point is clear.

I used to use Androids exclusively, long before I ever had my first Apple device, I know the appeal of having a tech feature that nobody else has, even when it doesn’t quite work as advertised. Thankfully I’ve long out grown that kind of thinking and am now much more comfortable with the notion of having a new feature once the kinks have been ironed out.

Hence why I’m happier on iOS nowadays, not because they are perfect no, nothing is. Neither because I’ve developed some irrational hatred of Android, I haven’t. But I appreciate that Apple does things in their own time, making sure to debut technologies or features when they are as sure as it is possible to be that said technologies or features work well and offer tangible benefits.

That why when I see the all to often repeated line on this site ‘Android had it first’ I always am tempted to reply with ‘yeah I remember, I also remember it kind of sucked back then’.

Back in the land of things making actual sense though, this would appear to be a move towards differentiating the 'Pro' line, and managing supply chains.

This way you would have the standard iPhone 14 aimed at upgraders from earlier iPhones like the 8, XS or 11 series, For which being based around the A15 SoC along with various other improvements, will still represent a decent upgrade. Then you would have the 'Pro' for the tech enthusiast types who have to have all the latest and greatest from Apple.

Apple would be able to ensure adequate component availability for both new models, in times where such things have been compromised. This meaning supply to customers is not an issue, and perhaps prices for the standard iPhone 14 could be kept as a tad lower as a result, thus making it an attractive upgrade option.

Nice to have a bigger and brighter lens this time a little big improvement and thanks to 14MP lens for back primary Camera yeah it make difference due to detail of photos and much accurate night shots. in my opinion!

Show me one phone that gets software updates worldwide on exact same day. I don't think even Google does that with Pixel phones and I know for a fact you need to wait for weeks on all others. Even if you manually check for update, nothing will show up. It will on iPhone. Every single time for every hotfix, bugfix or major OS update, for nearly 4 years straight.

[deleted post]Ah yes, that's why I have it and Anthony from LTT. I guess we're so "tech unfamiliar" that we bought iPhone because of that and not because of bunch of other reasons like phone just working instead of d**king around with it all the time just to have it half working.

Haters will hate what ever news regarding Apple 🤦🏻‍♂️ I'm lazy to make any opinions regarding Apple products with suchlike haters around.

I’m in the minority that thinks the iPhone SE released in 2016 is the greatest iPhone ever made. Might be the last truly great iPhone. I’m typing from mines right now on iOS 15.5 and it works surpassingly well after 6 years. I did need to restore it to fix the battery drain.

                                      - Best iPhone design ever
                                      - Last to offer headphone jack
                                      - Lightest iPhone, lighter than the 4 and 12/13 minis
                                      - Easy and cheap to replace the battery

I don’t need gestures or 120 Hz. I hate Face ID because I tend to use my phone at night with no lighting and it won’t unlock. I’m not sure Apple will make an iPhone as great as the SE1 ever again. And I owned the OG, 3G, 4, 4S, 5, 5S, 7, and 12 mini.

The 12 mini’s battery life was never a problem for me. I just hated Face ID and assistive touch is no longer useful as I still toggles from it. I'm forced to do extra steps. I also hated the notch which obscured certain things on top.

I might get the SE3 if I find a good deal for it. Yeah, the design is extremely old. Basically from 8 years ago with huge top and bottom bezels. But I don't care. I hate Face ID and much prefer Touch ID. Still has an A15 chip that will be found in the non-Pro 14s. Might be the last iPhone with home button as the SE4 will start looking like the 11s.

iPhones are like Air Jordans. Many older ones are better than the AJs in the 20s and 30s even though the newer ones have better tech which tends to be gimmicky.

Anonymous, 13 Jun 2022That's why you should never buy any Apple product.
