They probably need them to improve onboard computer UI. Like Tesla most functions in Geely cars can be changes only via screen. UI isn't of best. At least they have quick access hardware buttons for most important functions under the screen. And that is very good.

if you don't have any idea how big geely is, they own Volvo.
for a chinese auto manufacturer too, their vehicle designs are a surprise. probably the only decent chinese brand that can really go up againts foreign brands in the auto industry.
just hope they won't turn Meizu into another BBK looking phone

Ngl, I pretty impressed with Geely in automotive industry..they able to a loss company into profitable ..
Can't wait to see how they will perform in smartphone market.. this will also open the possibility for their own infotainment system with deep integration with smartphone. Geely definitely have enough resources combine with Meizu patents and experienced in audio.

im seeing the rise of Geely here in our country with ICE cars. buying Meize makes sense for new future cars with infotainment capabilities similar to smartphones.

This is a huge purchase for future EVs from Geely. Apple will be releasing an EV in 2024. Sony is teaming up with Honda. The next battlefield is being drawn out now.

Not even counting the facts e-sim is nothing popular/barely available yet, wireless audio is inferior to wired and qi charging is less efficient than wired , does not let you hold/use device and phone gets even hotter.
Man hello.
Any update can litterary bricks any phone. Your sense of humour is pretty funny.
E-Sim is future and EU will force us whether you like or dont. Such as with Micro USB back in 2012 now USB-C or sealed batteries which began in 2006 year before apple started with this thing.
Wireless audio will be dominant in upcommig years and jack goes to history like removable batteries whether you like or dont.
And same goes for QI charging.
Many phones nowdays have much faster wireless charging than half of the existing phones have wired charging. Hionor magic 4 pro for example have 100W wireless charging fastest yet on a phone.

I hope they do not turn FlymeOS into another iOS copy like MiUI, Funtouch and Origin.

Honestly, what killed Meizu was their obsession with Mediatek, practically no support update policies and their lack of a flagship device. Their flagships always felt like they were experiments and they were so different between each other.
FlyMeOS looked pretty good last time I checked, so that was the only thing they had going for themselves.
