Qualcomm isn't pointing a gun at everyone's heads and telling them to put a Snapdragon in literally every phone they make, that's breaking multiple anti-trust laws.

Dimensity8100 is clearly a better chip and Xiaomi knows a lot of their customers want it. And yet no one brand launched Dimensity8100 devices in other markets except China. Any possible guesses?

A long time ago, Intel pressured Dell & other companies not to use AMD chips and it ended up in court.
No sane company would do such exclusive deals these days. The anti-trust laws and penalties are very strong in EU and US.

Imagine how ypu call those that are actually same chip with useless overclock of one core by insignificant amount of 0.36GHz while the other seven cores remain same which leads to higher power used without any benefit.

Guys, I think Xiaomi is not going to release any Dimensity product. Given Xiaomi and many other Android brands' relationship with Qualcomm, they will always set Qualcomm as higher priority than Mediatek. So when Qualcomm tell them not to release any high end Mediatek phones they listen. It is too scary when someone has the monopoly power in the market and launch a garbage product. The whole world(the entire market other than China) is forced to buy it cuz you don't have options. You can only go with Tensor, 8Gen1 or A15 in North America.

hmm, 16 Jun 2022Are you 7 days old that you can say that the chip that was ... moreSnapdragon 870 is just an overclocked version of Snapdragon 865 which was launched on March 2020. So technically it's a 2 year old chipset.
