Pixel 7's Tensor 2 chipset might offer only modest performance improvements

22 June 2022
A bricked Pixel 7 Pro prototype was examined, which revealed the presence of a Cortex-A55 cores. This means no ARMv9 designs for the next Google chipset.

I thought Google and Apple produced better overall images, with Google doing better zooms than Apple. I now wish I had purchased the iPhone because of the far better battery life. But for photography, Google is the one to beat.

My mates had the xz premium and the z5 I think (4k screen ones) and they had the exact same random glass chipping and constant overheating problems, never trust Sony because of those 3 devices.

Disappointed to read the info in this article. I was planning to buy a Pixel 7 or 7 Pro, hoping that Google would have fixed any problems with the P6, and with Tensor 2, put quite a bit more grunt and capability into P7, and therefore, have a long time horizon ahead for phone ownership. I'm never comfortable buying the last of the old model (in this case, Tensor) when clearly a substantially new model must be somewhere in the pipeline

Sony fans often say "If you want to buy a great phone, buy an Apple, Samsung or Sony", they also make ridiculous comparisons comparing the latest iPhone to the latest Xperia and then conclude that both devices are "identical".

Nope, Apple doesn't do that, Google does it. Samsung are the iPhones wannabe, not Google phones. Apple even sued Samsung in the past.

This is kinda like what Qualcomm did for Microsoft-exclusive Snapdragon SQ2. It's not a big leap of step up compared to the SQ1.

Anonymous, 22 Jun 2022Yeah Pixel is so full of features. Just look at any other... morePixels and Stock Android are just wannabe iPhones and IOS. But failing at that task. Lol.

Stock Android and Google phones (even those from the beginning, made in partnership with LG or Huawei), were nice and appreciated, when other Android skins and phones were laggy and bad (maybe 2012-2017). Nowadays, I saw even some cheap Poco or Redmi phones performing decent enough for their price.
One Ui, MiUi, Realme Ui, even something like Zen Ui are good enough, with lots of features. And the phones are not some buggy messy devices. So, no need for boring Stock Android anymore.

Sony is just one small brand. Too small to make a change in the mobile world.

Pixel phones makes some of the most realistic pictures. The pictures of the places and objects look like in real life. Not bright colours like on Samsungs. Nothing wrong with the Samsung either, some people like Samsungs bright and vibrant pictures.

If it's a simple 15% performance boost with 50% boost in efficiency and stability with WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity, that's perfectly adequate for like 95% of the Pixel user base.

Throw in 512GB for the non-Pro, improvement to selfie, and improvement to the Ultrawide and my wife will get one.
