Google's Switch to Android iOS app now supports all Android 12 devices

30 June 2022
The company really seems to think a lot of people are switching in this direction.

I can safely say I am fed up with android, if things don't shape up by 2024 I am making the switch and it seems many have already done so

"Apple is still getting the lion’s share of smartphone brand switchers. At least 73% of carrier representatives said that Apple was getting the most switchers, while only 16% said the same about Samsung.
When it came to operating system switchers, 43% of representatives said they were seeing more switching happen from Android to iOS, while 51% said the overall rate of switching between the two operating systems was “about even.” Only 5% said that more switchers were choosing Android over iOS. blue, 30 Jun 2022Nonsense. I have a four years old iPhone 8, battery still i... moreLol, no. I doubt that you have more than 85% battery health on that thing. And with that battery health and the way iPhone 8 performs on IOS 15, you can't get more than 3-4h of SoT from that thing (without gaming or heavy tasks).
My past iPhone 12 lost 3% of battery in about 6 months (with light to medium usage, no gaming, no full charge the battery, no heavy tasks). And I have a friend with iPhone 8 (I think 4 years old), he has 78% of battery health (without gaming or other heavy task on that phone; original battery).
So, you will have perfect battery in that iPhone 8 only if you recently change it. But, even with 100% battery health, it will still be poor SoT.

Second, how little you choose to use your iPhone is not a reflection of how versatile the device actually is.

Third, and this is just pure speculation on my part, but maybe it's not the fact that you are calling on an iPhone that's 'boring and lame' maybe it's the conversation.......🤷‍♂️

                              1. I use iPhone to call only - the most boring and lame thing.
                              it's quite meaningless.

                              2. I use iPad to browse, use Apps, listen to song, Watching Video, Sketching and Drawing,
FaceTime, take notes, and even taking Photos and Video. I can focus more details with larger screen while capturing. I play drone with iPad, not iPhone. I connect GoPro to iPad for maximum versatility.

                              3. Finally, I use Apple Mac AMD to work productively.

Grey Wolf, 30 Jun 2022I did. Well, technically I had both Android and iPhones in ... moreIn principle I don't disagree with anything you said there, it's been Apple's way or the highway when it comes to iOS all along. Funny how it required you to own multiple iPhone's before you realized this rather obvious and well established fact.

I also find your general naivety somewhat amusing, you honestly think Apple is only the player in this industry (or any consumer industry for that matter) to which this line applies: 'who gives the impression that they are thinking about their customers, when in fact they are thinking only about money and profit.' ????????

If so, good luck finding that alternative that cares more about you than the money you'll be giving them.......

delapenja, 30 Jun 2022Yes you're right, let's take for example larger, ... moreDude, everything that you've listed are all nonsense because those are simply part of technological evolution that happens over time. Of course Apple would adopt accordingly, but the most important thing is that even if Apple is already late, they at least make sure that their own version has unprecedented quality and reliability.

Also, high refresh rate screens on mobile devices were already started by Apple in their iPad Pro back in 2017 to 2018 I believe. Heck, they've even pioneered the variable refresh rate mechanism on top of that as well, with their moniker "ProMotion" display.
Additionally, Apple was also late in large battery capacity trend, but now look which among the top-tier premium flagship smartphones has the best battery life of them all?
And with iOS, users need not to worry about when they could possibly receive a new update or if they'd even get the new ones at all, because Apple updates their phones in an organized manner that all iPhones of a particular model will receive a specific update at a specified time and date, all at the same time. Meanwhile, the flagship Pixel 3 XL, a barely 5-year old phone made by Google themselves, the developer of the entire Android OS itself, is already being abandoned from basic security updates now. Hahaha, maybe Google wants users to upgrade now.
