Compared to 5nm, it's up to 45% more power efficient, has 23% better performance, and is 16% smaller.

Every year they reduce power consumption by 20% from last years by now the power consumption should be 0.01% compared to SD 800 from 2014, is that correct ?

A lot of secondary chips and modems are often of older node that's more readily available and doesn't really have drawbacks. And because it's high yield and available it's often cheaper. Samsung also makes DRAM and NAND chips which are made with older/larger nodes.

I also don't have issues with their high power nodes. 8nm node used for my RTX 3080 is perfectly fine. It's hot, but all the high end cards I've had in last decade were hot, even those made at TSMC like GTX 1080Ti.

Not to mention 0% different to us users since our phones still can't use the full potential of SoCs from two generations ago.
