A wider, more immersive portal into the digital world - or just a gimmick and a passing fad?

Remember Google glass? People don't want to wear tech on their faces. There is no interest in this, it's just being pushed by our technocrat overlords as they want us to stay home and consume. They don't want us going outside and traveling, and spending time with our family and friends

This is THE next big thing in consumer tech. Mark my words

This can be popular in certain scenarios such as when paired with phone for notifications and other purposes or with a console for really amazing games experience or to display anything in ultra definition. If done correct then this can significantly improve variety of tasks and open new possibilities in entertainment and also utility so definitely not some temporary fad but not everyone will adopt it because of the expensive prices currently

Some of these have potential, example console ones, for high quality gaming. And some like phone powered ones, for being a better kind of smartwatch or a smart tv for media playback. The standalone one idk who might need it, or maybe giving it phone connectivity would be better. A smart glass is also good but it might have lesser applications in real world. The only two types of vr that can be mass adopted would be console powered or standalone, both with optional wireless phone connectivity
