Zero, 01 Jul 2022Even with the price increase, they will sell well in Japan.... moreMy guess is that the sales will drop. I switched the job in 2018 and since then I had no more salary raise. I have an iphone 12 pro max that I will keep some more years. With all prices increasing like crazy having the latest iphone is for sure not my top priority.

I was expecting a price rise when the 14s are released but not this soon and not by the amount stated. Let’s see if Apple lowers the price when yen regains strength against the dollar in the future….probably not. Time to look at other brands when time comes for replacement.

Not sure where this guy got idea that iPhone isn&#... moreGoogle Pixel phones (the best Android phones) apparently sell very well in Japan, in Canada it is possible to buy some older Japanese version Pixel phone models like the Pixel 5a (exclusive to North America and Japan), it is very curious that the iPhone SE happens to be the best-selling phone in Japan.
Statistics are always misleading anyway, Apple doesn't dominate in Japan, Google does.

But in real world that is not how inflation does work.
Another issue is that japan is just too cheap compared to other countries, and I don’t mean for the japanese people themself(the average monthly wage is lower than minimum wage in my country) but as a outsider or a investor.
But that is fault of the government there, that is however a story for another day but in short, the reason some stuff doesn’t make much sense in japan, is because of “the elder” people in the government over there, living in the past.
