nah its only if you using cracked apps outside google.good thing my phone always scanning for malware before install

"The good news is that the malware is largely distributed outside of Google Play because Google restricts the use of dynamic code loading by apps. So be careful out there and avoid side-loading Android apps"

Nice try ... Ironically the play store is essentially just as dangerous

Time and time again apps get to users in the thousands and millions all under the guise of the "safety" of the play store

Infact side-loading is done mainly by the more savy folks which are the minority

Same thing with these custom ROM rooting folks that make their devices super vulnerable

Or you can side-load apps from trusted sources like F-Droid and you'll never have a problem. In the end the average user downloads all the apps from the store.

Is not about Play Store apps. Is for those who are side loading apps from different places, outside Play Store. In a way, who is doing this deserve to have malware on their phones.
Even Huawei, when you try to side load apps outside their App Gallery, gives you a message that they are not responsible for any problems it might occur.
So, bottom line, use Play Store for downloading apps and you should be fine.

And for those people who praise IOS for its safety and downgrades Android, you should watch the video called "Android's security is BETTER than you think!" from Android Central channel on YouTube.
