It's Google malware I think although I do think Google has a point when it come down too internet security the Google app store isn't the only app store with built in security and banking

I do trust Google up too a point however Google is know for making mistakes most malware apps I've experienced come from Google can't just claim something is a virus when I personally tested something and it is not a virus

It's a known fact Google will actually slow down any alternative browser that doesn't use the same engine as Google by artificially increasing the workload palemoon browser and Firefox for browser are all victims of this problem on YouTube

Aptoide has it's own built in security and payment systems
Uptodown I don't know if they support payment systems or not

The appgallery also has it's own payment system

There is also third party internet security programs like Kaspersky or 360 total security that are designed too protect your security

Plus some app pay you too use them
For example money apps that has been tested and reviewed

I guess it comes down too who you trust with security and money

If Google just let me easy swap region for apps I would not need to do it...

you have to suffer, 04 Jul 2022usually cheapskaters tryna find cracked apps and games for free.Usually, but not always. I know many times I've had to download stock apps from the internet (Apkmirror and likes) for one reason or the other (play store acting up, for e.g). Very recently, I had to get WhatsApp apk directly from their website, and sent to my aunt so she could update her WhatsApp, because she's been trying from Play store without success (likely because of low storage).

In the end, people should have the option of getting their apps from other sources. And devs should be able to point users to their sites, to avoid the store tax.

IpsDisplay, 04 Jul 2022Being anecdotal and not having an issue good for you.. T... morePhone packs aren't part of the device, itself. It's an accessory. Most phones don't even come with pack in the box: most people who buy it do because they want it and see its importance. Knows the risk that comes without using it.

Phones, on the other hand, come without root access. One who wants it usually have to go through hoops and rigors to gain the access. That person most likely knows what it entails. Knows the risk that comes with the access.

Aside the fundamental differences between the two, there are way more chances of someone using his phone without a pack and/or glass protection cracking his display than there are of one using a rooted phone getting hacked or affected with malware. Even though rooted phones are more vulnerable to attacks, non-tech savvy people with unrooted phones (because they rarely use rooted phones) are more likely to fall victim to such attacks.

Car seat belt don't automatically strap itself on someone once the take the seat and refuses to come off. Someone would need to put it on. Traffic law also makes wearing car seat belts compulsory. Going against it is, aside from directly threatening the person's LIFE, is a crime.

And one could actually replace the one that came directly from the car maker and outfit another matching one from another source.

This isn't about not using apps at all; it's about getting app from another source other than the default one. Your analogy is fundamentally flawed!

It's not that dangerous, and it can be hugely beneficial especially on low end devices. I would rather allow you to access my data rather than any government. Chinese, US , Russian or mine... No way! The logic is simple rooting grants you more access if conditions are the same a rooted phone can be tampered with more than an unrooted one

If you want access to cpu governors etc then it's equally true for external malicious users as well

I know people that drop their phones everyday and not a single crack.. does that logic means that dropping your smartphone is not a risk??

It's very hard to understand what a developer wrote if you are not an expert. Many times the bad guys will conseal the malicious code inside variables or functions with names very similar to regular variables and confuse the hack of people who are paid to examine the code.
But keep sideloading apks, ROMs, use wireless headphones and install as many camera filter apps for that perfect selfie which nobody actually wants to see. Meanwhile, black hat hackers are rubbing their hands and filling their pockets.

Big doubt. The only reason Microsoft would claim this is to scare people into thinking they need to use Microsoft Defender which was recently released. This is just a glorified advertisement. Android phones now have many precautions which prevent sideloading by normal people. Anyone who is stupid enough to download an app from an untrustworthy website frankly deserves that malware.
