Now you can see only 2 or 3 designs and the rest are all niche. For eg as someone pointed out earlier about Zenphone, you can't get a compact phone unless it's a flagship. Even Xiaomi 12 is smaller than this phone.
You cannot choose partial flagship specs. For eg we can't have great display and audio without having higher specced cpu or camera.
So Nokia was doing the right thing and I would like all manufacturers to adopt the same.
And that was not reason for Nokia failure. When they were releasing 1000s of phones as you mentioned they were at the pinnacle for years. It was the failure to release that one phone that would advance them to next level.

Nokia dead because of too late to enter the party (android, of course) by sold the brand to Microsoft which made Nokia errm Lumia die slowly at that time.

Yext, 09 Jul 2022The price tag sure is agressive, but not in the right way.Here in the Philippines, the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE 8/256GB costs ₱15,950 ($285.69), which makes the Xiaomi 12 Lite's pricing look not worth it.

About larger front MP I think it should not be count because Xiaomi cuts the MP of rear macro cam too.

How do your mind works? Let's hope they DO NOT end up like Nokia, but they go little further and give us, to all mobile nerds, something new, something beautiful. I guess they have their experts on design engineering, marketing and sales analysts etc that collaborate and give us their final product, no matter if we like it or not. With this phone, maybe they just are pushing their flagship sales, I don't know... ;)

When I heard about this I had naively thought it would be 6.2 or maybe even a 6in version

I could even get the Xiaomi 12X for this price.. Same display as most others, slower chipset, worse cameras and a smaller battery is all this has at a higher price than others.

And no, the Galaxy A52s, isn't half the price of this where I live, the article doesn't even mention European prices.
I don't have the same point of view as you, that's why I said it's all personal preference.

Shadocx, 09 Jul 2022This comment section is so funny, why would we buy this ove... moreThe F3, but more importantly the F4 are both significantly cheaper and significantly more powerful, the F4 even has OIS on the main camera, has a slightly bigger battery with the same fast charging, it's also IP53 rated, it can record in 4k 60fps. On the other hand the A52s is IP67 rated, it is just as powerful, has a better ultrawide camera, has OIS on the main camera and a slightly bigger battery, but slower charger, but also way more software updates and you can find an A52s at half the price of this.
Not gonna argue with you, just stating facts.
