We get OS updates for years, I don't need to buy a new phone just to get latest OS lol. We actually get updates and we get them every single year in fall.

It’s like the designers have actual fruit machine type devices to guide them, they pull the lever and whatever camera assortment it lands on that’s what they put on the next device. It’s so random as to be beyond any kind of logic. Well apart from they know the Android audience is very much into the ‘more is automatically better’ kind of thinking. So 4 cameras has to be better than two yeah, even if the extra ones don’t actually do anything whatsoever.
That’s why you get all those Nokia, Motorola, Xiaomi, Oppo etc devices with all the weird and wacky camera islands variations on the back, got to get those useless, low mp depth and macro cameras on there you see…..
And it’s not like there is any consistency either, a Motorola or Xiaomi etc will come out today with a 64mp main, 8mp ultra wide, 2mp macro, and 5mp depth, then it’s successor will be announced (tomorrow) with A 48mp main, 10mp ultra wide, 2mp depth and macro lenses, then the next day another one with an entirely different combination again. It’s pure randomness for the sake of it 🤷

I guess iPhone 14 buyers have Nothi... moreLol, you people thinking you need to do a wild redesign every year just to be relevant, which is what all the Chinese makers are doing with obsession, doing wild redesigns with ridiculously curved displays and camera islands bigger and bigger and more ridiculous with every release. And I'm not talking iPhone's bigger camera island where it's few millimeters larger, it has to be like 2x bigger with every release!
Reason why Apple doesn't change the design much is literally the whole point. They DON'T want a huge redesign. They make small changes to retain recognizable shapes and looks. Any modern iPhone you see you instantly recognize it. And that's the whole point, to be instantly recognizable. But for some reason you people here just can't seem to grasp that.

Unlike 300 other models from Nokia, Motorola and Oppo that look pretty much identical on the back. That's terrible for brand recognition. It's why Apple also keeps notch in the front and now another unique double punch hole and pill combo that's also not used by anyone. If it is it's just a double punch hole combined in a pill. Any graphic of a new iPhone that'll have just a vague rendering of a phone with punch hole and a smaller pill and everyone will know it's iPhone's shape used as reference. And while it sounds silly, it's super important for brand recognition. It's why you recognize McDonalds graphics from halfd way across the planet or Coca Cola's branding or Ferrari's branding or any other super widely known brand. They all know this and stick with it. It's just the other 99% of smartphone industry (mostly Chinese) that doesn't seem to get it.

for each new iphone add 0.5 mm to the size of the camera and release the phone with same design over and over and increase the price
