Huawei, Apple, Google and Samsung still has better image quality. It doesn't matter how good the hardware is, if the image processing software is mediocre.

Please test sun glare on main and ultrawide.
Especially on ultrawide, as that one would be used most in nature photography (where you cannot reposition to avoid glare easily).

I merely commented on your point that the software is the same on both phones when it is not the same. That is all.

This is why studio is used to kee... moreWhen you have the phones side by side and take a lot of photos with each from the same positions and check the file info on every one I think it can give you a good idea. Yeah, it's not a perfect method but the results were consistent for multiple shots from different angles

If you take photo with phone A, then 5s later take photo using phone B, you cannot guarantee conditions are same. Even letting phones side by side you have two different micro environments.

This is not like when one brand made polished software for $1200 phone but crap one for their $450 midrange.

I'm far from a photography expert but I liked 12S Ultra authentic mode for daytime and Mi 11 Ultra on night mode. Looked the most reallistic for me while keeping good detail

Another failure.
If all brands were using same sensor, most of them would do better. Except motorola, meizu and sharp.

It's a different sensor so they will surely have different software processing to match the sensor. Of course the Xiaomi 12s ultra is going to be better overall but the 12s pro does have some advantages. For example it has a 2x portrait lens for more natural portraits. I also tried the two side by side and the 12s pro and 12s shoot with faster shutter speed than the 12s ultra so both of these should be better for pics of moving subjects in general. The speed of taking a photo seems quicker on the Xiaomi 12s ultra but when you check the shutter speed after taking a photo it is almost always slower (sometimes a lot slower)

Not me, I'm not one of them. I am genuinely impressed with the photo quality from the Authentic Mode. Not only do I hardly see any oversharpened details unlike the ones in Vibrant Mode, but it also shows massive improvement in terms of photo quality as a whole from the Mi 11 Ultra. This is something the likes of Vivo and Sony should watch out for in H2 of 2022, especially the latter.

12s and 12s Pro with same software and ISP will not match the results because 707 is much smaller than 989.

11U makes foreground much brighter despite much faster SS.
Probably xiaomi tuned down the HDR, what is positive thing Apple, Google and Damsung should do as well.

I have the MI 11 ultra and the S22 ultra (snapdragon) and i absolutely prefer the MI 11 ultra. So i hope for the MI 12 Ultra 🙏🏻
