And we're talking apps that are used on Macs almost exclusively, not just some software one picks and decides for the test and then declares it runs bad even though literally no one uses those tools on Macs, like ever really. Because that's what Apple was targeting in the first place, to make things people already do with Macs and make it really exceptional. And then they compare that to whatever things people do in Windows under similar tasks, not identical.
It's like picking tools that run badly on Windows and insisting on using them for productivity. No one does that. It's why Macs are only great for specific productivity tasks and for others, people simply don't use them. The same way Linux is great for productivity in terms that it runs most of world's servers, but is still pretty bad at local productivity and gaming. Would you be insisting on that or would you pick other more appropriate tools?
It's weird how people don't use some logic into it and go with head straight through brick wall. It's why I'll probably never pick any Mac for my use. For browsing and basic multimedia, I can run even Linux like Ubuntu on my cheap laptops and it'll do great and I'll probably prefer it because I have tons of established tools others made and I made that only work on Windows and not Linux. And for gaming which is also big part of my life, of course I'll pick a PC with Windows, not PC with Linux or Mac with, well, anything. Not only it always runs poorly on Macs, I also can't use things like ReShade, which is also very important for me. M series Macs are great pieces of engineering and they can outperform many systems at things they are meant for. I mean, would you use NVIDIA A100 for gaming and then complain it runs games like crap even though it probably outmatches everything else in compute workflows and is based on Ampere chips that power RTX 3090Ti ?

And how many of those “tests” are realistically used on any Mac? There’s your answer how relevant is ANY of the “tests” done. People use Macs for things that are great at, not because they are Macs and then treat them as multipurpose machines that are great at everything lol. Even Apple is not pretending about that nor its users.

Average laptop which cost around $1000 will perform much better than Apple pro/max models.
Linus had nice videos with real world usage you can go there check for yourself.

The thing is, for what Macs are used most, they are exceptional. Which is why their compute logic has several ASIC units built into the chip itself to accelerate that significantly. Like video playback and transcoding. Basically any time I hear about video editing, there is Mac involved. And that's professional work, not some hobby stuff. There has to be some merit to it, because I doubt all these people would sacrifice efficiency just to say they have a fancy Mac. But again, depends on your workflow and what programs you used before as not all are available for Macs and/or PC's.

Still for long time use for example gaming whole day some kind of hardware very expensive game and Intel with good ram and paired with at least RTX3070 8G will preform much better than apple.
When comes to price niothing beats apple but when comes for gaming performance apple is last company i would buy their products for heavy gaming.
And for things like brownsing, watching videos, MS Office etc i dont need a 2000+ apple laptop or tablet if students laptop for 300-700 can easily handle that.

While silicon M is impressive, its not as impressive as Apple claims, most of their bechmarks are cherypicked and in real life its Behind Intel and Amd laptops with highend Cpu/Gpu.

they call a laptop as Pro.
They call a ultrabook as Air.
Ultrabook - low spec, but long battery life
Laptop - high performance, use @ home, battery life > UPS backup.
Gaming CPU a proper high spec, adding power performance @ options, etc.
Finally, student want to use with external Monitor for Powerful productivity.
Like to work @ workstation, not library, Starbucks anymore.
