Grey Wolf, 13 Jul 2022What do you mean overwhelmed? If you will just use your bra... moreThat's... not how reality works. We're geeks who fiddle our phones basically 24/7. Casual users, who are a majority of users, not the geeks don't know what 3/4 of settings do even on iOS, let alone Android. And when they set something wrong they freak out because they cannot figure out what they changed that ruined their experience. Finding right balance between giving users freedom to tweak things and defining them the default experience is a sweetspot that vendor always has to chase. It's why iOS is generally more preferred among casual users, because it just works, even if within Apple's idea of predefined features. Where Android often drops million tweaks and options which just overwhelm and confuse users and often to a point just break their experience entirely if they set something they didn't want. Again, that can happen on iOS, but it's a much smaller chance and is thus better for casual users (which are the actual majority of users). Apple also tends to do things late, but designs and packages features Android had for years in a way any casual user with almost zero knowledge accepts it well and is able to control it better than when you throw a big menu with 100 options at them instead of a single graphically oriented page where you physically adjust visual elements by directly poking them. Apple is really focused on that and I can understand it why.

Grey Wolf, 13 Jul 2022Lol, iPhone users making fun of Android users with 150EUR p... moreNo one is making fun of people who use phones for 150€. Not everyone can drop a grand into a smartphone. We are making fun of people who claim their 150€ phones are better than ANY iPhone just because their whatever 150€ model has bigger numbers on paper like a 90 or 120Hz display and 5 cameras instead of just 1 on older iPhone. Just that and nothing else.

Also cheap Android phones are a group where I generally don't apply my "software support" requirements. It's nice to have and some like Samsung (again) offer very good support even on those devices, but can be forgiven. I cannot forgive sad software support on a 1000€ Android phone. That's ripping off Android users.

Even if he has 64GB model he can put plenty of stuff there, many ”quality” games and can take thousands of photos. So not sure what you are trying here. I used 64GB iPhone years without ever filling it.

Not to mention a 300EUR Android phone nowadays, is similar with a 700EUR iPhone (in day to day usage; social media, web browsing, video watching, etc.).

SShock, 12 Jul 2022Because being totally overwhelmed by choices is always so c... moreWhat do you mean overwhelmed? If you will just use your brain and have a little patience, you can easily find the phone you need/want. Is not so hard.
If you go to the supermarket and have tens of products from the same category, what do you do in this case? Is the same thing. You just need to be a little patience, use your head and then you will make the correct choice.
Is far better to have so many options, than have none or very few.
But, of course, iPhone users will always be happy with what "daddy Apple" is choosing for them. Lol. They don't need to do any thinking at all. Apple does all the thinking for them.

Usability of apps on outdated ancient OS versions? iPhones from 8 and up will get iOS 16. That's phones from 2017 which are currently 5 years old. Oh and if Whatsapp works on Android 5.x I can assure you a lot of Android apps don't work on it anymore. Source, I have such phone and bunch of apps are just gone and you can't even find them on GooglePlay anymore. iOS requires higher versions to keep apps running, but you get updates for longer so that's not even an issue and it's the same thing as on Android, you just keep on getting better API supports as a guarantee. Which is why a lot of apps have more and better features than those on Android just because they are being held back by armies of users with ancient phones that run outdated Android versions and thus outdated API's. That's just the reality of it. And if they raise the requirement, they'll suddenly drop tons of users and that's just bad for business so they don't do that.

Anonymous, 12 Jul 2022He's taking a dig at iphone users paying 10x for a har... moreAh yes, the good old "it has moar of everything" and "innovation". You just forgot to specify which version of Android... Is it the RealmeUI, the OneUI, the OxygenOS, MIUI, EMUI, countless other skins of it or the Android AOSP ? The usual fallacy of "Android has so much stuff since the beginning of time" by picking and choosing from all the variants of it and just blanket describe it as "Android". It doesn't work this way. You either compare iOS to Android AOSP or you don't compare them so broadly.

Anonymous, 12 Jul 2022i have a friend like you always bragging his iphone 12 pric... moreI've heard a lot of made up things, but you're really grasping at straws here. 128GB or 256GB on Android phone is the same as on iPhone... If you have tons of crap on your phone you won't be able to save any videos or games on either. And given how not even most Android phones even have microSD card slot, that's hardly an iPhone exclusive problem.

Ironically, most of the space on phone is usually taken by phone's automatic backups and not crap users have installed or stored on the phone...
