Nothing OS is just Android One (Android Pixel) rebranded, which is funny, because it literally doesn't have any additional software.
I think Nothing is looking to be direct competition with Google and its Pixel phones. The phone (1) has many similarities to the Pixel 5, except for the price.

like some product from some weird marketeer in some action movie. Nothing actually really interesting after a first glance, enough to serve as a dummy or a mock up but nothing else than forgettable after a second look.

Be sure that you will not see for this price similar device from Asus, Sony, Google, Htc, Meizu, Sharp.

They could have skipped the front camera instead of providing the IMX471. It must be Carl Pei's favourite one since it was used by OnePlus from the OnePlus 5 till he left the company & became the face of Nothing around when the 9 Pro launched. Now it is being used by Nothing till he decides to leave the company. Even Samsung made a mistake using this sensor for their UD front camera in the Z Fold 3. It is actually a 4MP Quad Bayer sensor and not an actual 16MP sensor. Hence the images come out sub-par to its competitors. They could have easily use the 12MP 1/2.93" Sony sensor or the 50MP Samsung JN1 1/2.76" for the front camera. Then it would have easily gotten 4K/60fps support for the front one. The 50MP Sony IMX866 1/1.49" sensor should have been used for the UW camera. It is a newer sensor and can capture better details. Also an IP67 rating should have been provided instead of an IP53. They could have also used the same LTPS panel as the S22+ model which has support for 48Hz. The price could have been increased by a 50$ for all these changes.
BTW why isn't any company planning on adding a ToF 3D sensor with an IR dot projector and a Flood illuminator combo for secure face unlock. Dual biometrics are more important nowadays.

Established brands could build the exact same phone and sell the full fledged 12/256 variant for less than even the base Nothing variant.
Nothing is just released a single phone and it already become OnePlus.

No charger in box. If someone want to move from iPhone, they'll still need to buy a charger. Removing charger in the name of sustainability was just a way to grab more cash.
