It's literally my choice, i don't see the issue here. I agree on the part when it will cost much more than an iPhone or Galaxy S22, i would rather choose iPhone/Samsung over Zenfone.

AnonD-1033007, 13 Jul 2022The bezels looks like a $100 phone but everything else soun... moreWell the nothing phone 1 one uses the flexible oled that bends inward to get symmetrical bezels, but that ends up increasing the final price (as Carl Pei said, flexible OLED costs twice as normal one). That's a huge price bump when all it brings is tiny bit of symmetry. Also considering a flagship processor, gimbal cameras, it'll end of costing as much or more than an iPhone 13 or Galaxy s22. Will you buy a Zenfone that cost as much? No, probably not. While Zenfone might offer more than these flagships offer in terms of hardware (headphone jack, gimbal cameras, bigger battery compared to its size), it has to cost less to make itself competitive. So a little bit of bezel is reasonable tradeoff. Nobody minds the ugly notch iPhone has, which cost 2x-3x as a Zenfone (depending on market), so it's strange to find people finding a bit of bezel a problem.

Plus they dont rock a panel nor stereo speakers anywhere close to this!!
And just in case u forgot, the SE3 also exists! Not to mention this still looks a whole lot better from the front compared to the ugly bezels on the Pixel 6/a!

now the standard Compact phone we call is 6", back in 2010 Compact phone mostly under 3" like Xperia X10 mini. In 2012 iPhone 5 is the most Compact flagship. In future the tablet is said to be a Compact phone.

The SD 888 last year was made by Samsung, so this year we got the SD 8 Gen 1+(that's how I call it) and a bigger battery, but you're still expecting bad battery life?
Standby drain should be lower (so longer battery life), bigger battery should also make the battery last longer.
Anyway, we'll see how this affects the web browsing and video playback tests.

I doubt the extra 300mah will do much to mitigate the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 inferno. Expect piddly battery life again. And let's hope no ramdumps.

Vango, 13 Jul 2022I guess no India launch first up (ROG phones have their own... moreI'd somewhat blame the company 'Zen Mobile' for this, since they sued Asus for Zenfone trademark and probably won. So they can't launch with Zenfone branding. They'll probably launch with name 9z or something, but that might take some time. Hopefully the delay is not more than a month or two.

Not many 8z were sold either, but that's also mostly due to them bringing it waaayy too late!!
I thought they might release a D1200 powered 8z Lite last year, but then I opted for the 12/256 X7 Max instead, and I still miss my old Z2 Plus-it was so comfortable to use 1-handed!!

I guess no India launch first up (ROG phones have their own India event). I get it, considering the small phone market isn't huge, but this is a great all round phone which just happens to be small.
At least hopefully they launch it promptly unlike how they took almost an year to launch the Zenfone 8 here.

Hope this does well, looking at it to replace an old phone because of the size. Really don't like the size most phones are now.
