Anonymous, 17 Jul 2022Hell no. An overhyped flop is what this phone will be.This phone would do well only in North America due to the show-off culture there. Everyone in America uses iPhones and it’s not a joke (coming from an American), and this phone would be nearly perfect for the person who wants an Android, but wants to be seen as being “cooler” than the average iPhone user. But the fact that it’s not going to be initially releasing in the US and Canada (iirc) means that this phone is going to flop hard for its first year being out. The priorities of the rest of the world aren’t like America’s, and Americans like pointless gimmicks. We like gimmicks over here. We would like this phone.

I think samsung a 52s 5g is a good phone for any user for rs10000 less . Wireless charging is pointless . I believe in samsung amoled. They give better software support . A shine phone won't solve your life problems . Think about the planet , use your phone longer.

GT2 Pro for 700 Euro (8/128) has better form and performance. 4mm taller and 1mm narrower it has 6,7 inch display (LTPO2 and etc). Same rear camerea + 3MP microscope camera with AF, 32MP selfie camera, 5000 mAh battery with 65W wired charging though doesn't have wireless charging. Ultimately it uses SD 8 Gen 1.

It's an over hyped ordinary phone with some toyish design and with an older SoC. Nothing special, nothing exceptional.

If 3 years of OS and 4 years of security updates is really important because you intend to use the phone for a long time, I feel like it would make more sense to for that phone to have water and dust resistance instead of a non-plastic build because putting a protective casing on it while having IP67 rating would be more helpful in preserving it. (i.e. Galaxy A52s and others in the A series).
I think you'd really be better off spending just a little more for last year's flagship phones of the other premium brands or at least, wait for reviews before committing 3-4 years with Nothing 1.

I am interested what Nothing will do next but i would rather have flagship killer than good looks and build quality. This first Nothing phone 1 is just mid range android phone with flagship build quality.
Mediatek top end soc, great main, ultrawide, 3x telephoto cameras, 8gb ram and 128gb storage and price it 400-500 dollars.
I am very sad that we have not had true flagship killer phones for many years, those what we have just have mediocre ultrawide camera and no telephoto camera.

I concede that Nothing's marketing was good enough to get their phone hyped up and get people talking about it. That being said, the phone is mostly gimmicky. Sure, the Glyph is cool to have but I honestly cannot see myself using it properly (AODs pretty much diminish the Glyph's utility).
I have a feeling Nothing would go the Essential way unless their next phone is good enough to eat into the Pixels' or the Samsung FE's territory.
A decent attempt but I'm sticking to Pixels for now, thanks.

You don't see any difference between 90 and 120Hz. People won't be owning the phone in 4 years. Aod and the flashy light is just battery killing gimmicks. I even bet 10$ that the nothing will suffer antenna problems like Apple used to. The mics can't even clean your voice from noises around you, so people will be asking if you are outside or if it's windy. Yet again, it's your money wasted. Only because of the look.
