If it happens to be a Xiaomi 12T Pro in Europe, I would like the phone to get a good periscope lens, OIS on the main and periscope cameras, IP protection, possibly some kind of wireless charging and excellent autonomy of the 5200mAh battery

I love to see people here think lenses used by phones can handle 50MP when most lenses made for FF cameras cannot, despite being light years ahead.

Anon95, 14 Jul 2022Pretty likely that this'll be the Mix 5. Mix 4 release... moreXiaomi 12T Pro. At 600USD for 256GB. Regular 12 gets Dimensity 8100. Just like Dimensity 1200 last year and snapdragon 888 in main phone.

What is there to work on?! They don't "make" sensors, they only buy and install them.

I'd be interested if they made a quad Bayer version of the 200mp sensor like they did with the 108mp sensor.
The 50mp binned output would be worse than a mirrorless camera due to diffraction and noise, but it would in good daylight conditions, and providing the phone is held still, provide more detail than any current phone.

"Both have 200MP resolution, but the difference is in optical format and pixel size"
That's not the only difference. The HP3 is not a true 200 megapixel sensor in contrast to the HP1 because the HP3 has 50 million microlenses whereas the HP1 has 200 million microlenses. This makes a sensor behave completely differently. For example, "12 megapixel dual pixel sensors" have 24 megapixels, but only 12 million microlenses. The HP3 is a 50 megapixel Quad Pixel autofocus sensor.

Aziz soft tech, 14 Jul 2022Hhhh we totally don't need 200MP lens in a smartphone ... moretrue. its just a waste of storage why would anyone even need 200mp when 48 and 50 is good enough??

Hhhh we totally don't need 200MP lens in a smartphone beyond think like Google.
200MP a single pic on full resolution will be 100mb+.
I know they crop to 16 or 12 still it's like a name 200.

Anonymous, 14 Jul 2022only in Global, I think Mix will continue as a Chinese Excl... more12 Pro, 12s Pro and 12s Ultra already.
Then 12T Pro later.
Pointless to have a 5th phone of similar price range when only thing "really" different is the super low quality UDC.
Mix5 was going to replace 12 Ultra, but plans changed in early 2022.

Anonymous, 14 Jul 2022Instead of 200mp 4x4 pixel array binned to 12mp, it would... moreIt is made to work 16-1.
The 4-1 50MP is software based.
Expect same issues seen on full resolution quadbayer.
The 16-1 will be much more useful here.

Instead of 200mp 4x4 pixel array binned to 12mp, it would've been much wiser to just make a sensor of same size with 2x2 binning producing 20mp final output. But they want to mention the number 200, which get them sales from ignorant people but consumers don't get better photos

What ever Happened to Quantum Dot image sensor??
I read SAMSUNG has been developing Quantum Dot image sensor since 2009, they even publish journal paper of Quantum Dot image sensor in 2009.
since the absolutely no sign of it, it's very sad.
