Unless you were also using Windows ME until recently.

Autobiote, 16 Jul 2022Well my Win10 PC starts in 10 seconds, ready to use. So I d... moreThat is fake startup, it doesn't actually boot. Try shutting down with shift key held down, then it will shut down properly. And next time when it boots, note its startup time.

My problem is legalised spying tools inside Windows 10 and 11 that keep an eye on your every move. Through marketing they're trying to prove that new Windows is lighter and faster, all lies.
Try putting today's OS on a Pentium 4 to see how light it is.

If anyone looks at the history of Windows, we can see a definite trend happening.
        For instance:

        1 - 1990 - Crap - Windows 3 (end of Intel's 808xx range)
        2 - 1992 - Nice - Windows 3.11 (start of Intel's Pentium)
        3 - 1995 - Crap - Windows 95
        4 - 1998 - Nice - Windows 98 (se)
        5 - 2000 - Crap - WindowsME
        6 - 2003 - Nice - Windows XP (sp2)
        7 - 2006 - Crap - Windows Vista
        8 - 2009 - Nice - Windows 7
        9 - 2013 - Crap - Windows 8
        10- 2015 - Nice - Windows 10
        11- 2021 - Crap - Windows 11
        12 - 2024 - Nice ??? - Windows 12

But Microsoft is asking for it
Am still on Windows 7 I will never upgrade too windows 10
Something got to give sooner or later

Most people have programs that on exist on Windows ecosystem or function Windows has but no other is has

For me am a gamer most of my game library is lives inside Windows ecosystem

A though some of my games from my library will work in a different os there are some Windows only cases

I do also use android i play mobile games
A little know fact is there are more mobile phone gamers make up the highest more mainstream then Windows gamers or any other type of gamer

Also the hardware just cheaper for meeting the system requirements for games plus the games are more storage freely

Plus ever few years there is a GPU market gos crazy just try take my GPU out my phone and sell it back to Me twice the price xd u can't

Android is also is not massive the os only takes up a little storage for itself as well
Unlike windows that has crazy system requirements just too run

I have been getting on much better with android much nicer experience then Windows
Much better desktop and download manager on phones the user interface is clearly better

Also android has the best game emulators unlike windows

I run Andy emulator on Windows
Andy emulator is stock android unlike other android emulators
I find the layout in android so much better then Windows also the browser works in Andy emulator

A good part of my game library on android now am slowly porting as much of my game library over too android as I can as windows games come too android

Not even Windows 10 will be working correctly by then.

The sourced article mentions nothing of a Windows 12, so where is GSMArena getting this idea from?

Also, I have been using Windows 10 since it first released to the public in 2015 and let me tell you, while it is a good operating system overall, what I don't like about it is the fact that it always seems to be doing something in the background, far more than previous version of Windows.

Another thing I don't like is that it always seems to wait until you're doing some h/w intensive task to choose to look for & download updates. I have a NVMe SSD & still notice some shuttering because of this.

The only word I can think of to describe the way Windows 10 handles updates is 'Intrusive'.

There are third-party software you can download to remedy these issues but why should it have to reach to that in the first place?

And before I forget, another thing I hate about Windows 10 is that it comes preloaded with apps that I don't use nor care for like Candy Crush Saga etc, and the fact that they try to trick you at every turn to sign into a Microsoft account.

In my honest opinion, Windows 8 was the best operating system that Microsoft has ever made. It was more stable and supported more features than Windows 7 while also not being intrusive like Windows 10. As for the start screen replacing the old start menu, I completely agree, I actually liked the start screen more than the start menu and I don't understand the backlash that it stirred. Not to mention that Windows 8 had much better support for touch screen devices than even now with Windows 10.

Its funny, that the people that complained so hard about Windows 8 saying that they would be sticking with Windows 7 don't even seem to realize that they complained themselves into a worse operating system overall (Windows 10).

As much as I would like to pretend Linux is a viable alternative in the desktop, some of us have work to do and Windows/macOS are the only systems that run our professional apps (i.e., certified for compliance and/or from the big industry players). Server-side is a whole different discussion, it's all about Linux/BSD with very few exceptions (i.e., AD and little else).

I switched to Linux becouse of the forced updates from Windows. Made me crazy the way they work.

I associate updates and updating software as a bad thing because of windows 10 os forced update ( and a few game devs removing support for hardware and stuff )

and people wonder why i only use windows 7

forced nvidia driver update can't be a good thing it's bond too break something with an unstable releases and have to rollback a update sooner or later
let the user choose there driver version that works for them best not everyone wants too be a beta tester

Bugs from windows 11 were from beta builds and unsupported devices
I am not saying win11 doesn't have any bugs
