Issue is, no one tells what grade of aluminium they use. I only remember Apple mentioning use of 7000 grade aluminium since iPhone 6. This is generally considere as "aviation grade" aluminium and it's harder and tougher compared to 6000 grade aluminium, but still equally light.
Stainless steel is almost entirely dent resistant in comparison, but is much heavier and very expensive to mill into shape because it's very tough and "stubborn" material. It's also very hard to apply nice brushed or bead blasted effect unlike on aluminium which is why stainless steel sides of phones are always polished and are horrible fingeprint magnets as a result.

AnonD-1033007, 20 Jul 2022According to the leaks, i see a flat screen 🤷🏻♂️If flat screen and under 550USD, I will jump right into it. Hopefully Oxygen OS 13 brings magic to this device. Otherwise Oppo Reno 8 Pro(or will have to wait for Moto Edge 40 Pro) is the way to go. Excellent build quality, display, performance. Software is trash though.

they have audacity to demand premium for plastic frames. They did same with OnePlus 9 and many criticized them for it but look like chinese brands are obsessed with plastic frames.

The event's being held in NY, so it's safe to say they'll launch it in US.
And according to the leaks, it does have a flat-ish screen, at least the display isn't curved, the glass night be.
But why would anyone even buy this stupid phone for probably >$700!? It only has the 8+GA going for it, nothing else-build, cameras, screen, thermal headroom/optimisation?

I've used many phones from many OEM's. Some were OK some were garbage. OnePlus phones have always been great for me...no problems with any of them. But I do think they are releasing too many phones all the time.

How would anyone believe oxygen OS is Oxygen Os.
It could be just colour OS. If look at both right now they look oddly the same. What shame well their only one thing left to do. Buy OPPO phone.
