Apple bribed the Ú$ to block Samsung cause they were losing but case was settled when Samsung also paid the Ú$ to drop case. Also blocking a large conglomerate for profit from one of your long time allied countries is a bad move.

Though it's very much questionable because China doesn't have (at least so far) the capabilities to manufacture the actual machinery (which is mostly made by European manufacturers) that can produce waffers with such advanced fab nodes and SMIC has been on same tech ban list as Huawei, meaning they can't buy said precise machinery. Imagine it as being required to have precise enough tools to make even smaller transistors used in chips. On top of that, 7nm is rather old stuff at this point (TSMC began making chips using 7nm fab back in 2016).
Not to mention just having a 7nm chip means nothing if it's logic is badly designed and/or optimized and China hasn't been that great with any of it in the past. Which is why I'm always loud when people throw these nanometers around without understanding any of it.

I don't understand why Samsung would want to build a chip-fab in another country, especially the US. Samsung cannot keep any trade-secrets there, and most likely they will have to agree to what US intelligence agencies demand of them. And if there's a fallout the government will just seize the facilities with no recourse for Samsung.
It's a huge risk to invest in infrastructure in the US in todays political climate.

And 70% of total sales (Huawei + Honor) were in China.
Samsung had zero to worry about. Mainly because of sales are USA and Latin America.

Not to mention the fact that Huawei was ahead in the 6G inventions and the others was "copying" or at least licensing its technologies.

SAMSUNG has the fastest SSDs in the world, Fastest Ram chips in the world. world class Displays tell me which company in China can match that. China is nothing, all they do is copy..and make fake stuff.
