And for someone that's maybe coming from iPhone 8, even iPhone 14 with A15 Bionic is a huge upgrade. Do I think it's a good move that they are now segregating iPhones through chipsets as well? No. But then again, everyone does that in some way.

notafanboy, 23 Jul 2022Hello fanbois and haters. Just some advice, don't wait... moreMan like with every phone made by this brand.
If they were so great they would make whole phone line within the US and not come from china.
Its a shame that a big american brand needs chinese slaves to create phones for them.
For example company like Sony would never fall for this.

notkeen, 23 Jul 2022Strange how you don't see anything wrong with being in... moreWhat "annual cycle club"? With long term software support and excellent chipsets, it's anything but that. You get 99% of software features found on brand new phones and you can share the excitement for new goodies every fall of every year. It's Android phones that are far more obsessed with that, both, users and phone makers. Apple is always like "here's what's new" and it may be big or small, it is what it is. In Android phones, they always brag with largest number of features, biggest specs for hardware, everything must be bigger and better every year. Apple just doesn't work that way.

DaFink, 23 Jul 2022This ‘just wait another (insert period of time here)’ line ... more...and the periscope module is long overdue... no one had to wait this long because some company doesn't have the guts to think outside of the box by competing logically on the market therefore why on earth would it be sensible to get a negligible update which wasted so much resources in the first place? A 2 or 3 year generation update would be much more appropriate looking at the whole world situation when cost of living is rising.

SShock, 23 Jul 2022It does to some degree, but it needs to be realistic. For e... moreWell look, if you have a set prerequisite list of requirements you’d like and the next product will include all of them, then yeah wait for that specific product. My point was that any such list is likely to grow as the technology evolves.
iPhones, with their perception that they are constantly chasing features ‘Androids have had for years’ are a prime example of this. First it was water proofing, then wireless charging, then HRR displays, now periscope, next folding screens etc. I wonder what new ‘must have’ feature will get added whilst your waiting…..
Best let it all go, and either upgrade whenever the desire take you, or wait till you feel the need to. But constantly looking for what is coming after what’s next will only ever prove a frustrating and ultimately pointless endeavour.
All that said, here’s to the S23 not disappointing you. My last dip into the android world (Amazon fire tablets excluded) was the S10+, and that I didn’t get along with to say the least. I hope it goes better for you.

DaFink, 23 Jul 2022This ‘just wait another (insert period of time here)’ line ... moreIt does to some degree, but it needs to be realistic. For example, I've decided I'll go with Galaxy S23 next year purely out of curiosity how Android is after almost 5 years of using iPhone and my conditions are use of Snapdragon chipset for European region and change of crap vibration motor back to Z axis. I hated plastic back on Galaxy S21 and they fixed that in S22. But Exynos is still really poor and everyone complains how haptic feedback is much worse in S22 lineup because they use X-axis vibration motor instead of Z-axis. And I can understand why if it's vibrating pocket instead of side of my leg when it's inside pocket...

notafanboy, 23 Jul 2022Hello fanbois and haters. Just some advice, don't wait... moreThis ‘just wait another (insert period of time here)’ line has never made any sense to me when applied to tech purchasing.
It’s technology, it’s constantly evolving. You saying just wait for the 15 to have a periscope camera implies that it’s the last piece missing in some puzzle, but it ain’t. Fact is by the time the 15 is almost upon us there will likely be other ‘must have’ technical features rumoured to be coming to the next iPhone after it.
Waiting on the next product in an industry with an annual product generation cycle like smartphones is akin to waiting on a train that never comes, or chasing your tail. Your never going to get where you want to be, as there will always be something better lurking round the corner.
More sensible advice would be don’t seriously consider upgrading if your on anything 12 series or newer. But if you are upgrading this year, if your coming off an 11 or older say, then do so without regret, and without worrying about what may be next.
After all, with luck this won’t be the last phone you ever own……..

Hello fanbois and haters. Just some advice, don't wait for the iPhone 14. Just wait a year longer. We know the iPhone 15 will finally (and I mean FINALLY) have periscope. Although rumors say it will be reserved to the Pro Max, which sounds really stupid to be honest. but yeah, iPhone 14 sounds like the worst iPhone to purchase.
