Im sorry guys but the phone is not out yet. So we cannot compare with pure view or any other phone in the Market. Dont forget that Htc is not a small player in the phone manufacturing league. So we should not under estimate Htc and honestly after using Driod DNA / Butterfly I am sure this new phone M7 will be decent phone. So let's see. Good luck to Htc.

techknow, 10 Feb 2013Still below Pureview technology. Actually it's above and more sophisticated than Pureview technology. What is Pureview? A lot of pixels and then combining them via software into a smaller image, which results less noise and better color accuracy. The sensor uses regular Bayer grid, which has been used for ages. It just has more pixels. Do an image search with the words bayer grid, and you'll see that the pixels have predetermined colors, which they are sensitive to: red, green or blue.
In Foveon technology(if this ultrapixel stuff uses it), every pixel can be either red, green or blue.
Also the sensor doesn't need the sharpness-reducing anti-aliasing filter, which reduces moire in Bayer sensors.
Doesn't that sound more sophisticated than a sensor which just has a huge amount of pixels? In addition to that, smaller pixels have less dynamic range(pixel binning doesn't improve it at all). And if you use the crop zoom mode of the Pureview 808, you just see more clearly the noise and the imperfections of the lens. 41 megapixels is WAY too many for the small lens the 808 uses.
If it wasn't, we would also have 380 megapixel full frame DSLR's right now. Just see the resolution chart on this site, and the absolute resolving power of the 808's camera is about 3100 LPH. That's only ~12.7 megapixels, which is a very poor result.
It's just that most mobile phone users don't know anything about photography, they just buy into this megapixel hype. And Nokia knows it.
P.S.This ultrapixel sample is pretty useless. One reason: hardly any colors in the subject.

This is the biggest mistake ever made by HTC focusing on camera! HTC follows the Nokia's foot step heading the road of no return!

The source image is only 13MP compared to Nokia's 41MP, thus HTC's 4MP will be less pixel-perfect than Nokia's 8MP (not even mentioning the double resolution).
"new sound and camera experience"
Now that we know about the camera department, what do they mean by new sound? Beats and some crap microphones? No thanks, I'll stay with Pureview. HTC should at least show the crowd some serious improvement concerning their imaging sensors before mocking other companies.

techknow, 10 Feb 2013Still below Pureview technology. The only thing that can take on the mighty PureView 808 is another PureView.

Same as last year and last-last year. HTC will come with something called the best camera, hands-ons and reviews will come for the reviewers to discover that camera it's only OK but not the best, other manufacturers will do a little better with their cameras and so on.
