That's like fixing car's fuel economy by fitting a bigger tank on it instead of making its engine more advanced and efficient... Sure, it fixes the "problem" short term, but in the long term it's a terrible solution.

If RAM is cheap enough then why not take this approach? At the end of the day, software optimization is easy to add via an update. Adding extra RAM is not easy at all, that requires a new phone -- i.e., "the Apple way."

              Google Chrome: Hold my beer.

Thus being said, is always nice to have more. Even if you use only 6 or 8Gb RAM. Why is there a problem having 16Gb? If the phone price will not increase substantially because of this, I see this increase in RAM as a positive thing, not negative.

Other brands must give 16GB ram too. They give 12GB ram. What a shame. But 256GB storage doesn't match with 16GB ram. They must give 1TB of storage. And no it isn't an overkill at all. Many want to have it. For laptop I'd rather go with 32GB ram and 2TB storage.

Also my 6GB RAM android phone can have 28 opened apps (even more, if i had more lol), i don't see why are they bragging about this.

Anonymous, 28 Jul 2022Pass!! Anything below 20GB is worthless Laughs in 6GB on iPhone. There is ABSOLUTELY no need for phone to have 16GB. If there is such a need, whoever is in charge of the OS and apps needs to re-evaluate their life and business choices.

Seriously, laptops with 16GB that run full fat Windows 11 with all bells and whistles are considered high end (we're talking devices that are not specifically requiring tons of RAM just to do some workloads). Desktop gaming PC's with 16GB will run ANY game smoothly at max details easily. Yet here we have some crippled devices like smartphones, running crippled dedicated OS and somehow they need 16GB? Come on. Especially since iPhones and iOS have proven times and times again that they are competing easily with Android phones using just 6GB. It's just male organ measuring contest at this point by most Android phone makers who just throw biggest numbers possible at the problem instead of making any of it more efficient.

Again, I'm not saying they aren't allowed, it's just entirely unnecessary.

The OnePlus One (2014) that I bought via invite, had a real sandstone finish and a metal frame. The grip was far better while holding it. This doesn't even have a metal frame, just a plastic one. I'll pass on this phone, doesn't matter if it has even 12344 GB ram
