Even macOS used opensource base (freebsd and mach kernel, plus webkit from konqueror browser) to start MacOsx.
Harmony OS used an hybrid kernel and adds open source abstraction layer to smoothly transition. Not forgetting, huawei are one of the major open source and by consequence, as a member of OHA, one of the major AOSP and inside it (linux kernel) contributors. Huawei was the first linux code contributor in 2021. They have every right to use open source

in JUly 2021 there was litterary nio better phone to buy here in Slovakia.
Samsung is way more pricey, Sony too and at O2 Telefonica which is my network carrier since 2009 wasnt any good Motorola available so i went for Xiaomi. Othervise i would buy Motorola. Had Motorola before and my Moto X4 had since 15.10.2017 almost 4 years. Even now the phone is in perfect condition apart the battery. Always had my leather book case and a screen protector.
Now for more than a year my neighbous daughter have it they bought it from me when she finnished basic scool. Phone was in perfect condition also charger and cable and earplugs i never used so they were brand new plus box from the phone also in the top condition.
Please do understand that 400 eur phone can run any app equally fast than a flagship it have good enough camera and good enough specs.
Running the same app or game by 2 seconds faster and when loaded it will run equally fast on a 400 or 1500 eur device makes no sense for me.
Hope i explained my self to your 100% understandings.

1. Using brownser or app in phone is literary the same iits just one more click. You can for example put gmail into a first thing your brownser wil open when you run the app so there is no problem only people like you are lazy to find way to do so rhater they will tell milion useless things why it is wrong.
2. Man when i buy Iphone for example i would like to have Harmony app galery or Android hgoole play in and i wont have. Thats the same. Your nonsense makes no point. You cant have google chrome in harmony like you cant have IOS store in harmony same gioes for IOS store and Google play where you cant have rest of the shops they will not work.
3. IOS is full of restrictions and things IOS user wouldnt do because they can. Thats why IOS is called prison OS because its not work way you want and like but way hey force you.
Lastly Huawei needs time to widely spread to all markets once it will happen US can go nuts. They had no rights to set their dirty foot on Huawei and blame them.
That so called data stealing was never confirmed and on the other hand doesnt matter which phone or brand you have to agree with terms and services once you run the device for the first time. And when you do you have no idea which data is collected how and where they will go. You can only trust your phone and company which makes it plus company i mean OS you using and UI you using.
But to me everybody is stealing from you.

They always talk about privacy of your data in relation to other people, not privacy in relation to them. So, you're safe that your neighbor won't see your data, not that Google won't see it...

1. Using the web isn't same as using a native app.
2. To someone who needs Google play, Huawei App Gallery won't cut it. Only people that don't need Google play are those actively using and enjoying using only Huawei.
3. Huawei definitely took some pages off Apple's book–I'm not saying that it's a bad thing—and you saying that it's better is just your subjective opinion; I'm sure an iOS user would have a different opinion on that.
It's faster to achieve something when there's a ready template and good things to copy from.
It took android shorter time to be better than windows mobile and symbian, which is evident by the market share it quickly grabbed globally.
But same can't be said of Huawei's currently quasi-OS: outside of its homeland, it has negligble market share.

Most of Android apps are pure junk. Only reason why people keep using them is ECOSYSTEM - something Apple and Google understood very well - bunch of services connected together working in unison, with or without apps. That is also why Microsoft failed miserably.
And that is why Huawei is going right way. They are building their own ecosystem - still long way to go, but they are making right steps so far.

5G is only about faster internet but for reading emails or brownsing sites reading its contents or making online purchases even 3G is fast enough.

You can download and use it anywhere that not a problem.
Gmail is avalable from brownser rest like google play is not needed you have Huawei shop or app gallery.
And Harmony is not a copy of IOS its a lot better than IOS ever will be.
Lastly it took many years for Google and IOS to came to the point where Harmony 3.0 is now.

yes harmony OS 1 was from AOSP harmony OS 2 was part of that code lines in AOSP (8k+) was reduce to 3.5K+ and use own macro kernel Harmony OS 3 I believe will more own OS
is come similar like iOS unix first then Apple make own from Unix
android is again only Linux.
I have Harmony Os2 on tablet now last 3 months before emui and must say is much more smooth, faster and stable and battery excellent extra 3h+ then before.
only reason I ot have phone is bank app what I need still not on app store and 5G
when this will sorted I switch to permanent.
