blue, 03 Aug 2022Unfortunatelly Motorola has globally no name. It was always... moreIn the 90's Motorola was pretty huge in Europe as well, not just in the US, same in the early 2000s with the many RAZRs and other unique models. After that however, they went from being the second biggest after Nokia to, well, out entirely from parts of Europe at least.
Sony Ericsson was also pretty huge in the 2000s. And Ericsson itself in the 90's.

blue, 03 Aug 2022Why would they buy an empty and dead brand?Because of the patents, Motorola is a company, or it was a leading company, and it was the first to create a cell phone, you should show a little more respect for the company that started all this where you are now! troll

Anonymous, 02 Aug 2022True but of it wasn´t for Lenovo they would be dead. no ... moreUnfortunatelly Motorola has globally no name. It was always US-specific brand, never much successfull in Europe. In the 2000's Europeans loved Nokia, Siemens and Alcatel, later Samsung and Apple. But not Motorola. In Asia it was completely unknown.

Lenovo isn't known for keeping their promises.
If someone makes a survey, they will find out the most Americans think Motorola is still an American brand.

SShreyas, 03 Aug 2022You have such an inquisitive mind. Let me contribute to you... moreFair points there.
On one side you have corporations controlled by an authoritarian regime. On the other side there is a plutocratic government masquerading as a democracy and dictating what the rest of the world should be doing.

For all you political naysayers, don't you realize not one country is "pure" in the capitalistic world?
I don't personally agree with communist ideals, but ask yourself this. WHO are the ones who stood to benefit from China's rise to power? Why is it suddenly a problem when said country is phasing out the manufacturing sector and becoming a major competitor?
