Yeah, if they'd offer lobger years of support, I'd get it or the next rog phone. For now I'm aticking to my mid range samsung.

Snapdragon 855 still... moreI'm still using my Galaxy S10 w/ snapdragon. Battery life is still reasonably good & has every feature I could want except high refresh screen. Performance is plenty adequate still
I would be interested in a Zenfone 9 but it doesn't have wireless charging and I use that quite a bit.

Bank system still using WindowsXP, and everything work flawlessly.
Why would you need update to use a flawless digital product? It there any hardware deprecation protocol beneath the battery cover? Do you phone explode immediately after not receiving constant update?

The launcher is shit, yes, but you immefiately replace it anyway.

But yeah Zenfone 9 size and price competitor is only S22.
You just list Asus features ignoring you will end up with dead phone and no updates, so those features will be pointless especially with dead phone, I will rather have phone with less or worse features but reliable for years. If I wanted compact phone I'd choose from phones I mentioned because I don't want to end up with dead phone.

Aan2007, 08 Aug 2022why would you buy this over S22 which cost same, has much m... moreFirst of all Xperia 10 4 and pixel 6a aren't in the same tier , it's almost half the price , and don't have 120 / 90 hertz refresh rates which are industry standard in that point .
Moving to Xiaomi 12 / s22
The Zenfone gets a power button fingerprint sensor that imo , and many others is the way to go .
You get a charger in the box , that charges faster than the Samsung , but slower than the Xiaomi
You get a better camera than the Xiaomi, most of the time better than the galaxy , unless you try to zoom .
You get an aosp experience unlike oneui and miui , which is great for some people even tho I prefer more features.
You get a way better chip . Even tho they have similar names the 8gen 1 plus is way better than the normal 8 gen 1 . It doesn't overheat nearly as much and gets more performance because of that .
Which also is here to raise the fact , that the Zenfone 9 is a gaming phone in a small phone outfit . It has all the gaming features from Asus ROG phones , compared to Samsung that doesn't have a proper game mod .
The only small phone I recommend that isn't the Zenfone 9 is the Xiaomi 12x . But that loses camera quality, chipset and is curved . But since you can get it for 400- 500 dollar it isn't in the same price tier .

why would you buy this over S22 which cost same, has much more years of updates, stable optimized software and hardware won't break on you?
and if you can't afford S22 then there is Xiaomi 12X, Xperia 10 IV or even pixel 6A, though not so sure about hardware quality on last one considering notorious pixel hardware issues, so if you wanna play it safe it's either Samsung or Xiaomi or Sony

Tooo pricey. Most people's budget dont cross 175$ or about ₹15k. Such costly phones are for niche market and will not sell in numbers
