Anonymous, 06 Aug 2022Would be better. But unfortunately it will never happen.I think it will. Why do you think Google upped the support, Samsung did it and so did some Chinese phone makers. It's not because they are kind, it's because Apple is pressuring everyone with their long support.

Phones are not a shovel or hammer where you don't care if it's brand new or 30 years old. Just because it "works" doesn't mean it's secure or works well. It's weird how are people entirely oblivious to mobile device security and pretending all is fine if phone "works" even though it's running 7 years old Android version...

I have a Moto G8 Power and the last update i received was March 2022 and you know what? It continues to work and will continue to work for at least 3-4 years. And if I really need to somehow update it there's always Custom Roms. And even more I have a perfectly working Samsung Note 3 with Android 7 (Nougat) and all apps are working just fine. I agree that it's better to recieve more updates, but nowadays it doesn't make such a big difference and it's not such a big problem like you try to make it.

blue, 06 Aug 2022That's because even the site is tired of your lies. :-D You keep saying I lie and then admit only 2 out of 10 brands has actual decent support and then lie 3-4 others are "good". Which? I wouldn't call 2-3 years of updates with mega long delays "good".

Wow, you must have super low standards. Also fun how you argue me prefering Apple's excellent support is the reason people hate Apple. Read that again and try to reflect on how ridiculous that claim sounds. It's almost as if you're lying or something...

You're ex... moreYou accuse me of lying and then you claim nonsense how suddenly it's now 10 brands with good support. Next time it'll be just 4 and in the end we'll be talking about Pixel and Samsung phones again. Just stop it lol. Also which "major" brands? Sony? Oppo/Realme/Vivo/OnePlus? HTC? Motorola? Nokia? Honor? They are all a joke in this regard. Not only they support them for short time, they also need ages to release the updates or they just skip them entirely and release security updates like twice a year. What's suppose to be "monthly" security updates...

You're exactly the type of person for which people hate Apple. Not knowing anything else, but spreading lies. Two of ten major companies have perfect support, two or three have very good support. Then come one or two with some... support, and the rest simply produces a new model instead of a new software.
But even your comment "2 brands out of 50" is childish lie.

What kind of lame argument is that lol? 2 brands out of 50 have decent software support. It's not far from perfect, it's garbage support and I can't wrap my head around why you guys keep defending it. Complaining over things is what pushes things forward and forces brands to do better. Within reason of course. Has anyone ever seen anyone arguing Android phone's hardware specs? Only thing we kinda jokingly complain are absurd RAM capacities. That's usually fine. But software support is almost universally bad with exclusion of Samsung and Pixel phones.

I don't mind people criticizing Apple stuff either (contrary to everyone's belief), but thing is, most of criticism is very rarely legitimate. Most of the time it's just rambling or whining.

You people always throw Android around as some sort of collective unified thing when you need to argue market share or features that you pick and choose from all the phone makers and present it as "Android". But when that's not convenient you always put Samsung and Pixel phones on the side to argue software support. 2 companies out of like 50. Literally friggin always. Suddenly it's Pixel and Samsung phones and "those other inconvenient Chinese brands". I just don't get it lol

You could say "chinese phone maker" or "Android phone (except samsung or pixel)" instead.

And why the hell are you expecting a 100USD chinese phones has the same software support as 800 usd phones. For the same money, chinese phone user could literally buy new phones every year for the next 8 years and still got newest Android version.

Im not even a chinese phone user to know this simple logic.

[deleted post]i am tight in budget at that time. so... i bought the galaxy a12 since march 10. then after 1 day usage it was so sluggish i did not even put any games. just only 2 apps installed and it lags like crazy. and i reset the phone then get a refund then replace with poco m3 pro. i only buy phones just to upgrade phone storage since my previous realme has 32gb and i cant get much more out of it. then i'll upgrade to some flagship phones some day. i will never go back to samsung again...

(just uninstall some of it)

You ppl always use Samsung and Pixel phones as excuse to defend terrible software support and just all the Motorolas, Sony's, Oppos, Realmes, Redmis, Pocos and so on that are just horrid in this regard. Why are you doing this lol? Also Pixel phones, considering they are first party devices from Google itself should really be getting 5 years of major OS updates, not just 3.
