These days, everyone is made admin in whatsapp groups, so you would still be notifying everyone silently while leaving.. LOL

All this once view stuff is a joke. Privacy means I should have complete control over everything leaving and coming to my device. When a photo or message comes into my phone. I'm the one who decides when and how it gets deleted, not the person who sends it.

- snap it with camera
- done.

But i never get spammed or scammed on Whatsapp, only sometimes from single users. Their procedure of vetting business in their API is top notch.
But Telegram is fill with all those crap. Out of the blue, some people / business / group in telegram will add tons of unknown users.. and spam their stocks winner.. or what ever.
Based on the behaviour, I think Telegram is the bad one here, selling your info to other people so they can scam / spam you. Unlike Whatsapp better.

They should also allow whatsapp registration on different devices at the same time, not being tied to only one device for every phone number.

Then people will just do the screen shot through another phones camera. So yeah, useless. We do that on personal stuff that has been blocked the same way.
