13 February, 2013
The report also suggests the Galaxy S IV will have some sort of non-touch gestures.

I really don't find it an issue to keeping with a physical home key , I think SAMSUNG keeping it cause it use it for some features , and for me it is better to keeping menu key rather than task switcher key , task switcher key is useless since I can do the same thing just by holding the home key .

For the past three years (specially 2011 , 2012 ) , SAMSUNG was one of best phone out there , but in my opinion that cause of its Super AMOLED screens , light and simple touch wiz ui , and fast processors .The big problems are the built quality , and how ui looks , also need some useful and good looking widgets .
Last few months is a big step up for the processors speed , htc release a very good phones for the speed , looking , and fantastic screens like one x and butterfly , Sony has good come back too , so the goodies of SAMSUNG ( fast chipsets , and AMOLED screens ) has strong competitors this year , and must do a better job , and work on its designs , and using a better material than the cheap plastic that doesn't good for a flagship models like S3 and Note 2 ( S 2 , and Note from earlier year and I think to those guys has better looking than new ones ) , and need two make some enhancements to its touch wiz ui , like make new widgets , and work on both looking and functionality , ( there was a good one on the original galaxy S called bodies now , it like the people one on the htc sense ui , and it replaced by an ugly and pointless one on the touch wiz 4 , and I don't know why is that ) , I really like how the ui is simple and smooth , but there's some work to do on it ( I test htc sense ui and it's far good looking than SAMSUNG touch wiz but it lowering down phone performance and consuming more battery power ) .
I hope SAMSUNG work on these things very quickly to stay in competition .

Anonymous, 15 Feb 2013wow....you know nothingWhy dont you have a look for yourself? My Note 2 is far better than S2 and S3, but still the grey gradients are way off. And then we still didnt mention the ridiculous saturation and fake colors, those are also terrible but the banding and clipping is far worse. This is really so substandard, but the good news is that Xperia Z comes to europe on 21st of this month. Just a few more days in garbage samsung display world and my suffering will be over.

Samsung need to lose the AMOLED, as much as i hat apples, please view this photo on your Galaxy AMOLED phone and on your laptop/PC or LCD phone. It should be perfect grey gradients, as you will see on your PC, but look how it looks on AMOLED display... Very sad. On my Note 2 it has banding and color distortions in all kind of colors, i can see both magenta and yellow, and maybe some greenish yellow. Even if you cant see the colors, look at the bands, thats just so wrong and proves that AMOLED is unable to display all colors and their gradients, 16M color is a big big lie from samsung, i doubt it can display as much as 65k colors.

I think keeping the physical home button is a good idea.

Just like how the F and J keys on a QWERTY keyboard have raised bumps, the physical home button serves the same function; it allows you to orient your hand(s) properly for your comfort - well on a keyboard it is for centring your left and right hands, but you know what I mean.

This will be disappointing if the rumors are true, i think by now a lot of Samsung phone holders are sick of the design and want a different design something refreshing, something similar to Sony xperia z. i am currently using the note 1, and i didn't feel the urge to upgrade to S3 or note 2 because the changes aren't that significant compared to getting the next generation with Exynos 5 Octa which i presume the s4 will bring. i think Samsung can still be this year winner if they introduce another variant beside the s4,note series but with a different design, a design that includes the following: (Exynos 5 Octa, no physical (home, menu, back) and the option to hide the soft keys in place similar to Huawei ascend d2, 5.5 or 5 inch screen with notification led, removable battery of >=3500 mah, sd card option, better build quality, 13 mp camera). if Samsung does it, then i think its game over for the competitors.

I hope the SAMSUNG GALAXY S IV incorporates everything from the S11 - S111 and Note 11.
That should help in making it the KING of them all.
