Samsung's new Odyssey Ark is an enormous 55" 165Hz gaming monitor with "cockpit mode"

15 August 2022
Cockpit mode lets you rotate the display 90° and since it is curved, in this position it arks over your head. This can also replace four monitors (three in cockpit mode).

with that massive screen, it can fit built in CPU RAM and GPU like AIO PC. Why they don't? become more expensive?

    4K? Meh
Should have been priced $5k and 8k resolution

SamBoy, 15 Aug 2022I would love to get one, only if it wasn't that big, 4... moreyou should see how big is the stand, its almost a meter long and probably weighs 10kg on its own, i'd guess the entire monitor is more than 30kg...
here's an unboxing/first impression of it

SamBoy, 15 Aug 2022I would love to get one, only if it wasn't that big, 4... moreso you want a smaller monitor that's not curved? great news, those exist already!

If I want a curved monitor, 16:9 won't be the one I choose. It has to be at least 21:9 to make perfect sense.

In actuality it was just 60hz with some models doing 72hz.

All Good (8k would have made more sense). But what makes no sense is that USB c (let alone TB4) doesn't exist, REALL!!??

IpsDisplay, 15 Aug 2022Why can't manufacturers bring miniled to smartphones ... moreBecause it's very difficult as of now to shrink LEDs further than as much as those used on tablet, laptop, monitors, and all the way to large TVs. In any case, rather than shrinking the LEDs for more dimming zones, we might as well just skip mini-LEDs altogether for smartphone displays and jump directly to microLED.

SamBoy, 15 Aug 2022I would love to get one, only if it wasn't that big, 4... moreYo comment goes to show, that human being are ungrateful creatures who always nit pick and complain, even when they are presented with the best option.

The Asus ROG swift is 500hz

                            165hz very nice , 1000R perfect, 2000nits super, 1056 dimming zones amazing!!
I would have bought it.. but only 4K @55 inch ??? Using it as a gaming monitor you will see EVERY pixel on that screen. If this were 2015 I would have been impressed..but 80 PPI in 2022?? My current monitor has 110ppi and even that is becoming old.

I would love to get one, only if it wasn't that big, 40-43 inches would have been better.
Also I would have preferred it if it wasn't that curvy!
