If you would put that update on phone without mentioning it and hiding number... you would not even notice that you have 13 instead of 12 or even 11..

Anonymous, 16 Aug 2022Meanwhile, I'm still stuck on Android 11.At least you're still lucky. My Huawei Mate 20 may have been updated to EMUI 12, but it's still based on Android 10.

I am still using Oreo 8.1.0, eventhough my phones support Pie but I need just to change the phone.. don't know why I need android 13. Most of the popular apps like Whatsapp FB youtube and games still working fine.

potato4k, 16 Aug 2022Google should just stop announcing Android updates since it... moreGoogle does not stop any company to update or use latest versions of android. Why is Google to blame for the incompetence of chinese companies? Because mostly, they are the ones releasing crappy devices with old OS's.

With Android updates, the best you can do is wait 3-4 years between them. Theres always a golden version which is pretty good and a lot of crap in-between.

In my experience, the golden versions were as follow:

                  Jellybean 4.1.2
                  Kitkat 4.4.4
                  Oreo 8.0-8.1
                  Android 10

So we are due for another golden version, which might be Android 14 at this pace. 11 was mostly a code cleanup under the hoods, 12 was that Material UI crap and 13 is more of the same.
Last time the same thing happened was between Lollipop-Nougat

Anonymous, 15 Aug 2022Nothing special. Same system. It's like a quarterly up... moreThough the same about A12 and now on it ... And it works flawlessly on Note10+ and on S22 Ultra 512G 🌞 (I heard stuttering about the 128G model since there is 8 instead of 12 Gb, which is already crazy for Android!)

Anonymous, 16 Aug 2022Wow new features like wallpaper dimming and spatial audio 👏... moreBoth iOS and stock Android/Pixel are featureless compared to One UI. Both wallpaper dimming and spatial audio were already an old features in One UI.

Anonymous, 16 Aug 2022Wow new features like wallpaper dimming and spatial audio 👏... moreOh yeah, that's very good, Apple is also doing its job, it added very important functions like the great % of charge and apparently it will add AOD that we have since, 2016?

Google should just stop announcing Android updates since it's almost pointless. So many NEW phones in 2022 still being released with Android 11. Imagine if Microsoft announced a new Windows version, yet nobody other than Surface users can update to it.
