Same design language is not a problem but at that pricing, it does become a problem. It gets a bit weird when some of Samsung's midrange phones get better design than the flagship series. Like the S22 Ultra back design is a direct successor to the Galaxy A32, just changes in materials.
Samsung is just moving in Apple's direction with profit maximisation. They keep on saving on everything. It will backfire though like the A series

Waiting for s23 plus and hope for better battery life otherwise im going for poco f5 or redmi k60.

totally disappointing to make phones as big as possible.. and the s22 ultra is huge and that's a big flaw... why

This means it will be literally the same phone.
You won't notice the different soc.
You certainly won't notice the camera (same as previous phones).

You can literally wait 5 generations before you'll notice any difference whatsoever.

ALPHABOY17, 22 Aug 2022It's typical vs rated capacity. 5000 is 4800 real. But... moreTo be honest, they really can't do anything. We all want those elegant design phone that's associated with flagship, and I don't think they can fit anymore than that ~4800-5000mAh cell inside those phone.

Can't complain to be fair. The S22 Ultra's design is already good enough, and the phone itself is a near-perfect phone to many people to be honest. Like, why change when it's already good enough? Why try to fix it when it ain't broken? Further more, trying to settle will give the phones some sorts of, signature design that people will associate the phone to, so it will be more recognizable. We see brands that changes their design every release, and most of them just... failed.

That's a shame. I was really hoping the ultra would increase in size, especially screen width, and to be flat screen

No surprise if the next S ultra will have even worse battery life. More power draw, same capacity, equals disaster.

That what a "signature design" is. Keeping the same generic look years in a row doesn't account for anything "signature".

This design dates back to the Galaxy Note 20 of 2020. It was cool at the time but it didn't aged any near as well as anything from Sony, so keeping it for 2023 ? Bad call.

At least 2021's S21 Ultra had something interesting going for it with that frame-shared camera plate. It was pretty dope. They somehow ditched it altogether for the 22. Go figure.

so basically the S23U will be the S22U with a better processor, better software and an even more overkill main camera while being otherwise identical.

y'know what i can't even complain that's still a nearly perfect phone, at this point all that's missing is some wacky 100W+ charging and an actually good UDC

Well since the Z line remain unchanged & boring as hell you can't expect the S line to do any better.

Sony as been doing this since 2015 but people don't seem to understand
                                      Apple is doing it too
I think all brands should stick to a signature design
