JustSomeRandomGuy, 29 Aug 2022I've been using the ROG Phone 2 and it's over 3 y... moreFor a second. I thought I wrote this as I normally say the exact same thing about the rog 2. Although it sadly died and I got a rog phone 6 now. But everything you said about the triggers and how it helps with emulation is what made me love the phone and the battery life was just so good.

Now. For people like us. I think Snapdragon suits us as it will be way more compatible on emulators. So I won't be interested on the dimensity editions in the future. It will have to be SD for me unless the emulation scene start fully supporting this chipset

Anonymous, 29 Aug 2022Unless its considerably stronger at the same power envelope... moreI've been using the ROG Phone 2 and it's over 3 years now ever since it was released. I am not a gamer but I enjoyed using this phone so much. the battery life is absolutely fantastic, performance is still buttery smooth and fast, and I love its design because it has personality

like I said, I am no gamer but I did enjoy gaming significantly because of Air Triggers. it literally changes the way you play and made me play games I cannot do otherwise. examples are God of War from PSP and PS2 emulators, Devil May Cry, and other PSP and PS2 classics, all of which are near impossible to play w/out extra shoulder buttons built-in. you could argue to just use a gamepad or controller and I agree but that's the point: you don't need one. it's already built in to the phone out of the box

When Black desert mobile came out Rog phone 3 was preety popular and could Grind for like 6 hours, where normal phone was overheating a lot.

I really want to see Mediatek knocking down Snapdragon with a great sharp blow.Their monopoly doesn't mean no shit to us.

Finally, a D9K+ phone outside of China since the release of the Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition

I, for one, welcome our new Mediatek overlords

Anonymous, 29 Aug 2022Mediatek = 5% marketshare of phones above $450. 😂%5 is Alot considering the absolute dominance Qualcomm has

Now we actually have another option flagship SOC in the android space

Don't underestimate that first step it could very well be the start of a serious take over in market share

You cannot fall without having altitude in the first place

                    This even has av1 decoding

Anonymous, 29 Aug 2022Mediatek = 5% marketshare of phones above $450. 😂accept the fact that even Asus rog a gaming phone rewarded d9000+ with "ultimate" and thats mean something .
and for market share in first place mediatek only step in in premium chip just last year
and you forget most low end phone use helio

I kinda wonder, where do these people come out all the time with these numbers? Every time a new chip is being released, the producer heralds 15%, 25%, 1 million % better then the previous and every time, in real life use it's just not so, sometimes even worse. They'll blame every time the optimisation, cooling and bla bla, but in the end it's still the users that pay for the deception. Isn't there a regulation that should prevent that? What lab tests in strictly controlled conditions and paper calculations have no value in real life use.

DMX, 29 Aug 2022this soc is under the node of TSMC?Yes

Dear lord, give me strength to ignore everyone harping about TSMC for 5 pages...

But yeah, Mediatek is doing pretty good with latest Dimensity chipsets. I wish I'd see more of them in Europe. Very few models use Mediatek's higher end chipsets.
