I remember perfectly how and when the US government start banned huawei. what a Shame

No, Huawei is not the tr... moreIt's really funny how people tried to cancel Huawei wherein fact that Huawei almost beat IPhone and Samsung then the US decide to make a plan to avoid it from happening. Yes Samsung create their own frameworks but can you tell us why exynos chipset is overrated? It's like your convincing everyone to avoid Huawei. Just enjoy your Samsung device but don't make people became like you.

1. not in market here, 2. not all cameras I guess.
Great move tho, but I'm still very interester in focus, hdr, resolution and burst speed performance when shooting jpeg+raw.
Otherwise its good enough just for ads. But I got to say that for videos it would be perfect, not too much focus hunting.

Huawei always first to introduce new techs to the market like fast night mode, periscope lens, outer folding phones, teardrop folding technique. Too bad they got banned by you know who because they're too scared to compete fairly

Anonymous, 01 Sep 2022So you want them to talk 10 minutes about the screen size? ... moreDon't be daft. Between seldom mentioning any other characteristics save for photo stuff ad nauseum page after page, and offering a balanced introduction to a phone with all main features reasonably detailed, there's a chasm. DUH.

Anonymous, 31 Aug 2022Your S9 does not have a variable aperture, as it is the ter... more>as it is the term referring to an aperture mechanism that has multiple blades to seamlessly open up or close down the iris
The word "variable" means "liable to or capable of change". Changing between two stops is still change. Huawei is starting to reinvent the English language now?
>AI cannot replace deep DoF.
Actually it can, most of the time, shallow DoF is what it can't, merely stacking frames with different focus results in equivalent or sometimes even superior results to stopping down depending on circumstances, just ask the macro crowd.
As for sharpness, the current limits of sharpness in smartphones is not optics (unless intentional, like S9), it's still the processing, with influence from the sensor, CFAs like quad bayer do impact sharpness. Not to mention smartphone optics(even the main module) are almost diffraction limited wide open.
>Phones from older generation often had a focus stacking mode
Elaborate on "often", I don't believe this was a widespread function. Can you list 3 brands that had this?

blue, 01 Sep 2022Being a fanboy is really bad, boy. No, Huawei is not the tr... moreso you are not a fanboy? why should samsung be better than huawei just because it produces own parts? everyone knows how bad exynos chipsets are, while huawei's kirin chips were efficient and reliable. huawei was the first to put decent cameras into smartphones. huawei invented 5G.
why do you think trump banned huawei and not samsung or any other company? because of security concerns? come on, we all know what alphabet, facebook, apple etc do.
huawei became too good which posed a threat to apple and overall us economy, so they needed to ban it.

Zuzuz, 01 Sep 2022Just if you're so in bad with Google. Beside YouTube w... moreGoogle Maps. For 90 % of population simply the best mapping and navigation app. In my country we are lucky to actually have a better one, but it only exceeds GMaps here.
Google Play can be replaced to a part, but other stores don't have all apps needed. The main issue are local apps, such as banking apps, event apps, local store apps etc. And no, sideloading is not a solution.
Other can be "replaced", but if you once use Gmail, Drive and others, would you really ditch all these just to show you don't need it?

Their chipsets were just generic ARM, no own invention. All other components were bought elsewhere, just as any other company. Unlike Samsung, who makes own displays, CPU, RAM, battery, storage, camera modules...

Anonymous, 31 Aug 2022Huawei is reason phones have more than 1/2.55"? 😂
... moreTell me last time Nokia, Sony, Motorola and Asus were ever relevant in the smartphone industry in terms of market share. Everyone started using 1/2" then 1/1.7" and larger quad bayer sensors within 8 months after P20 Pro was announced.
I am so sorry that nobody cares about all the minor brands you support even after Huawei's downfall.
