The phone could work fine out of the box, at least I could verify that it works for me when I buy it, but each update carries the risk of breaking something, and I've witnessed this many times, it also risks changing system app behavior into something annoying, and I've witnessed this too, many times.

GorujoCY, 03 Sep 2022what do you think your priorities are on a phone? Ngl I ... moreMy S20's battery was so bad. Mine though, I don't know about other's but it's a beautiful, powerful and compact smartphone. I simply love small and powerful phones and Sony is just my style. I love the sexiness.
            Not a heavy gamer though.

On the other hand, I'd like to label you too by thinking that you're either a paid bot or an ignorant brat who blindly defend a multi-million company bad decisions to feel better about his own bad decisions.

Not trying to make this personal, but you should be demanding a better experience, a better product, and a better prices. Not blindly justifying everything to fit their narrative.

There're ofc some expectations but Sony or any other well established company had their far share of that.
So yes minimum 5 years of software support (OS + most importantly Security updates) is a must, and we should be wanting more than 5.

              Anyhow, have a good weekend.

Ngl I am considering a Xperia 5 IV as well, but the absence of charger, let alone cable Is making me a deal breaker and the bad thermal management (though I like the power passthrough feature I guess) is letting me down and this is over the MDTK Dimensity 8100 Realme GT Neo3(80W) and I can find it at 350 bucks (at base price, and that's china but likely cheaper than the global, also let's stir arguments away from some China things just in case [Like ROM])

and the Price is too steep justify but i forgive sony because they aren't BBK or whatever but still 1000 bucks kinda steep that I wish the 10 IV had a 90-120Hz and Dual speakers but nope... Well it's more like I would be fine if they ditched the wireless charging to make it a lower price phone but yeah...

would love to know what you decided on, the Samsung Galaxy S20 I think will be plenty good for a few years to come soo, yeah (Software support and probably also it's life...)

Looks like in the U.S. it doesn't support band 71, the 600 Mhz frequency used by carriers for extended range reception and to better reach people inside buildings. How is that possible? The four year old Pixel 3 supports band 71. And the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 definitely can handle band 71. Even the Xperia 1 IV supports band 71. It's just ridiculous to sell a $1000 phone that does not fully support the networks of the countries you're selling it in, when even midrange phones offer this kind of network support.

I always wanted to use Xperia but have never gotten the chance. Wanted to buy 5 III but i was told to get S22 instead. This time i think i am getting this one
