Evlo, 03 Sep 2022Weird that sony managed to release phone this year with no ... moreSadly, we live in a period where holes and notches are a normality. And people are even finding excuses for them (like what else can the manufacturers do, they are important for security reasons, etc.).
Why can't they do a design like the Galaxy Note 9 anymore (best design in a phone in my opinion)? Face ID with all the sensors can easily fit in a small bezel (far better than any ugly notch). Or just use a d*mn fingerprint reader (talking about Apple).
As for Samsung, I don't know why they can't make a Galaxy Note 9 design anymore. Is not like it should cost them more or something.
But whatever, trying to understand phone manufacturers, is like trying to understand quantum physics.

Kangal, 03 Sep 2022I much prefer the way the notch was done on the Sony Xperia... moreSadly the manufacturers forgot how to do this kind of notch, i remember few years ago even mainstream devices like xiaomi mi9t had similar notch like this years experia does. Weird how humanity can forget something they used to be able to produce.
Same thing with samsung that remembered how to make non-mirror tv this year after 20 or so years since they forgot it.

Weird that sony managed to release phone this year with no display mutilations.
I know apple forgot how to do the years ago, but I hope they will figure out how they were able to do it as then all the other brands will copy.

I much prefer the way the notch was done on the Sony Xperia 5 mk IV.
You get a better quality Selfie, Ambient Sensor, and really great front-firing stereo loudspeakers. No lost pixels from the display. It's just a much cleaner and aesthetically pleasing way to do it. ASUS ROG also handles this notch issue pretty great.
