BrianCoriour, 06 Sep 2022Why not start giving budget phones 800 series ?????Probably you are referring to some older generation 800 series. Something like SD855 or SD865. Will be nice, but sadly it will never gonna happen.
Imagine if somebody will release a 300€ phone with SD865. Nobody will buy mid-range phones (500-700€) anymore. Companies want people to buy both budget and mid-range phones. So, they will never make the budget phones too appealing.

That jump in CPU performance in the SD 6 Gen 1 might mean a new big core, leaving the 3+5 core arrance
SD 4 Gen 1 might be the classy dual core design

Ok, that's great, but where are the SD 7 gen 1 phones? The chipset is available since May.
I mean, I get it, chipset shortage and so on, but in almost 5 months no major model has appeared with SD 7 gen 1. There are only promises.
Why bother releasing chipsets if no phone actually appears with them?
This feels like some time ago, when Sony released some new model, but that model became available in 4-5 months. Lol.

With such huge computing power for an average consumer, it's about time we see smartphones with those SoC has USB-C 3.1 with HDMI ALT video output. Average consumers really need to know that those SoC is more than enough to replace their laptop when it comes to daily web browsing and occasional gaming.

Anandtech has more details
Both sd 4 and 6 gen 1 use cortex A78.
Sd 4 gen 1 has two cortex A78 same as sd 695,
Sd 6 gen 1 has four cortex A78 same as sd 778G but with slightly lower clock.
If sd 4 gen 1 is priced same as sd 680 and 6 gen 1 same as sd 695 then we will have much upgrade in coming phones.
4g1 around sd 845
6g1 ariund sd 855.
