Canalys: wearables back to growth in Q2, smart bands losing ground

Smartwatches enjoyed a good quarter, India's share in Q2 was the highest ever.

Smartbands are losing ground because

a)they are all the same,older and newer models.
b)they are getting constant price increase, which makes them less good options compared to the cheaper smartwatches.

    I use Mi Band 6. It is very basic but cool. I don't use many things. Just check the clock check my steps check my kalories and control my music playing my phone. Will buy Mi Band 7 Pro to get bigger screen. But in the future will buy a Samsung smartwatch. Watches and Bands are somewhat similar but they aren't the same. You can read the differences online.

That's how most chinese brands do it and that's why they mostly have identical specs.

          Is there really a difference between a basic smartwatch and a band as far as functionality is concerned? I have had one of each and they do exactly the same thing. I just switched from Xiaomi to Huawei because the sleep and heart rate tracking are way better on the Huawei Watch Fit than the Mi Band 5. Huawei has bands with the same software as my watch. I'd prefer something affordable with a rectangular watch and WearOS, but there are no options.

            To many consumers, the smartband is an introduction to the smart watch. Once you tried the smartband, next time you'll buy the watch. Smartband is ok under the sleeve, but in the summer it's not a looker.

              I think because smart watches have got more affordable people would rather pay a bit more over getting a smart band.
