Apple iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max arrive with pill notch, Always-On Display, and new cameras

I like the 14 Pro but why did they have to make it just bigger enough to be another 1mm taller, on top of the 2mm that the 12 Pro was taller and 1mm the 11 Pro was taller. They really need to go back to 5.8 inch and drop at least below 200g, preferably below 180g.

We need to talk EU pricing. The top of the line 14 Pro Max retails for USD 1099 in the US.
In the EU, the same device, starts at 1479EUR. And I'm not talking about some shady scalper import but the official Apple MSRP for the EU.
That's a 380 USD/EUR difference.
Some might say it's because of Dollar being stronger than Euro, but as I'm writting this on september 7, 2022, One dollar = One euro and 1099 USD = 1099.97 EUR.
Even with added VAT we should have about 1320-1350 EUR, not any near 1480 (!)
So can someone please explain what apparently seems to be glaring robbery ?

Smartphone market in a nutshell, innovation is long gone, but with Apple, Google and Samsung providing long software update support, it's not that bad.

I knew that... moreI'm amazed how people watch their events year after year and expect insane crazy changes every year and every year you're all disappointed. HOW?! Granted, regular iPhone 14's are lazy rehash of 13 model, but iPhone 14 Pro are pretty decent upgrade on a lot of fronts. For me, having iPhone XR, going with 14 Pro would be a substantial upgrade. It's what they are targeting. And enthusiasts who buy new Pro model every single year.
Also, the pill surprisingly actually isn't offensive at all, especially because of how they incorporated all the features around it and make it a center piece of notifications and messages.

Or you could say that the Dynamic Island is there to hide the fact that the pill is too huge and robs more screen real estate than the notch of old. But when you watch a movie in the new iPhone, the Dynamic Island will do nothing to hide the fact that this will be blocking a big part of the left of your movie.

really I hope Euro gets more stable finally
Not specifically because of iPhones, stuff I import is often paid in US dollars and with how crappy Euro is worth now, that a pretty hefty price hike for stuff I import.
Back to phones, Samsung and Apple both hiked up the prices for the old continent that uses Euros, it sucks hard but it was fully expected.
Also what a lot of people forget is that Samsung and Apple mention US prices without taxes, that's the norm but even then the weak Euro shows it's bad sad.
Really I hope the Euro being weak mess solves itself soon enough, phones aside stuff I pay in dollars (because I must) are getting out of the hand price difference wise.

Until you realise that the pill sits lower than the notch previously, it's quite huge and robs more screen real estate than last year's notch. And then you realise that the Dynamic Island is a cheap trick to conceal the fact that you get a more intrusive pill than last year's notch.

NPU from 15.8 to 17 TOPS and 50% memory bandwidth is from the LPDDR5 RAM, not much of a upgrade, the 20% efficiency on the big cores is nice tho.

I knew that this would happen. No innovation, nothing new, no nothing.. Gotta be the most boring iPhone launch ever.. Oh except that they somehow managed to make the new "notch" even uglier than the previous one.. Way to go Apple..
I'll wait for iPhone 15 Pro Max and hopefully we will see something new but sadly I doubt it..
