racerx67, 12 Dec 2022Looks like this is not happening... No word since September... moreLooking at how much info the leakers get before the launch, it's unlikely that we'll see a Pro-I ii anytime soon.

I found this rumour to be way too optimistic. I xan only agree that Sony will keep the 1" sensor, but 48MP is totally unlikely since Sony deeply values DRAM performance. Even 1/1.3" ultrawide is equally overoptimistic. I rather see Sony improve the existing Pro-I 1" sensor and give more aperture stops alongside native 3:2 mode.

It would indeed be nice if they spaced their phones out a bit more, didn't reveal them so far ahead of time when they're clearly unfinished, and waited just a month or so longer, until they could put the newer chips in their phones (Xperia 1 IV was released right around the time the 8 Gen 1+ was debuted, and the Pro-I was right before the 8 Gen 1).
Also, fix the overheating. There's just no excuse for that at this point. Qualcomm's chips may suck, but they don't suck THAT much.

The midrange Xperia 10 is nothing more than just an afforable Sony smartphone, although there is the even cheaper albeit Japan-only Xperia Ace. If Sony roll out the Ace globally and put Snapdragon 480 or 480+ on it while selling it for not more than $299 or $249, it'd be one tempting offer.

SuuperBaka, 09 Sep 2022"Since when latest leve of flagship uses year old CPU,... moreSo it's going to have higher endurance. Good. Comparing midrangers is dumb because they don't have to run as much or process as much when it comes to camera.
Man even midrangers have flagship grade camera. In my store we have a xiaomi which cost below 250 and comes with 108 Mpix. Redmi Note 10 and 11 to be exact. And the processing yes Sony and its gimmicky app for camera. Any other phone have much less t calculate and output perfect enough photos for a 6 inch screen.
Even this top rated Sony will looks aesome watching photos on its 6 inch screen. Print the photo on an Advertising poster using phone camera of size of several metres it will be as blur as any camera from 2009 and less.
By the way any 150-250 eur Nikon or Cannon does a lot better photos than this phone.
Even Kodak, Olympus or Fujifilm will be at least equal.
Going by that logic Xiaomi 12s Ultra has an endurance of 93 which means midrangers have better battery than them, a 2022 flagship doing worse than a midranger, WOW. I wonder what deformed logic I had to use to come to that conclusion.
Well yes but still more than 85. Many other flagship grade phones are also lot better on endurance rating.
The device is not even out yet and the latest processor would be the Gen8+. What half baked mistakes does this phone (which isn't even announced yet) have?
Man it will have Snap 8 gen 1 not plus. Mark my words.
Lmao, you said Moto X30 is better somehow. That 200MP camera isn't gonna do anything. That is the definition of a gimmick right there.
Max same thing people were saying when Nokia unveiled 808 Pureview with 41 Mpix 14 years ago.
Same thing people were saying when in 2006 samsung unvelied MP3 llooksalike phone with 1GB of internal storage. Same thing were people saying when dash charge has been revealed with a whopping 120W charging speeds back in 2018.
Same happened when Nokia N82 was first to release with Amoled display or when Motorola Pioneered IPXX resistance and a shatterproof glass.
And many else.
Man like you and me and tons of other users see there on these pages are tos of specs huners which do not hesitate to pay thousdants for something no other device ever had such as 200 Mpix camera or Xiaomi with 200W charging which cmming this autumm to sale.

That was being developed before the Gen1 8+ was a thing. At that time it was the flagship of the year.
"Last year Sony pro had 30W chrging this going to be same."
You are just assuming and even if you are right, it doesn't make a different. Faster charging doesn't mean it's always a good thing.
"Last year had 4500 mAh cell and 87 hours of endurance rating. This new is going to have up to 92. Even a low level midrangers have 100+."
So it's going to have higher endurance. Good. Comparing midrangers is dumb because they don't have to run as much or process as much when it comes to camera.

"So called flagship grade device with all latest technologies and endurance of a low level budget phone is a huge fail."
This applies to the Xiaomi as well and any flagship that has less than 100hr of endurance. Crazy how a 2022 flagship has less endurance than a midranger, huge fail.
I hope you see how flawed your logic is (which I highly doubt you will).
"Man please be realist and optimist."
Please be realistic and not delusional.
"Any half skilled person in phone technology will tell you thats a flagship grade device will have a flagship grade specs not a half baked mistakes."

I'm a fan of the only Japanese mobile brand in Europe. I always take the top of the range Sony. I have the Sony Xperia 1 IV. But if we look at the prices at the exit, the Pro series is better (or non-series). Difficult to compare because they are almost 6 months apart. The 1 IV is even better than the Pro-I (Sound, Zoom...). Gotta pick a series and stick with it although I'm not sure the Pro will last.... The next Pro is rumored for October or November. Do you think there will be a slightly larger screen or always 6.5"?

I dont really get Sony. They keep pumping out these high end phones with so little separation and identity, while neglecting the mid range, and offering nothing below that. I'm sure theres probably a money reason behind that, but as a low budget buyer they aren't doing me many favors lol

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2022Your A52 had one upgrade so far.Yeah but 2 upgrades are incoming. In general I factory reset after large updates. Brand or phone doesn't matter. So no problems for me. Everybody will buy a new phone once 3 years. So no issues. Also had Sony Z3. After 2 years it became somewhat slow.

AlexP, 08 Sep 2022midranger? Are you serious???Man a flagship grade device woould have a flagship grade specs, batterym charging and ram.
Also the endurance rating will be much over 100 hours.
Trust me this will not be the case.
If you look at previous model it ended the same. It got year old CPU, laughable endurance for a 1800 eur phone, low ram, low charging speeds and a camera equal to Mi 11 ultra which had prce of 720 brand new compared to 1800 eur for a Sony phone.
